diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 score is still tied at 0.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Liriano, eh? Heard that name somewhere...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I mean, it looks like an AAA lineup, but at least Austin is hitting 5th and with Forscythe hitting well he’s not a terrible 3rd hitter.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Liriano, eh?Heard that name somewhere...me too. i seem to remember something about a trade for some guy named escobar.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Sounds like Gardy told Bert that his Tiger team has been really gettin' after it even though they suck.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Not that I saw.Dick mentioned something about giving him the day off yesterday, since there were lefties pitching today and Sunday.
tvagle Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Sounds like Gardy told Bert that his Tiger team has been really battling their tails off even though they suck.FTFY
twins_89 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Really looking more and more like Mauer is done. I can't see bringing back a 36 year old 1B with concussion issues who is coming off a sub .700 OPS season.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 To me that run scoring is an example of shift misuse ... The only thing the hitter can really do with that pitch is go the other way, yet nobody is home.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Jeez Austin, just put the ball in play there. Sano moved 'em over, just make contact and drive him in. I'm guessing Austin might need to shake off some rust here and we should keep expectations reasonable.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Big shock. Angel Hernandez blew a call.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I stand corrected! Tip 'o the cap to Tyler Austin! LoMo, you watching?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Great to see Austin with a HR in his first game as a Twin. I'm interested to see if he'll be able to stay in the lineup and keep himself in the mix for the 1B job next season. He's definitely got the power...
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Austin didn't miss that one. TTO Tyler, so far.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 To me that run scoring is an example of shift misuse ... The only thing the hitter can really do with that pitch is go the other way, yet nobody is home.No positioning scheme works every time. You play the percentages. There will be times when a batter gets a lucky hit like this one, or simply goes the other way, although the pitch maybe should have been down and in rather than down and away.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Through 6, it's Good Guys 4, Los Tigres 1.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 It'll be interesting to see how'll close. May's getting the 8th, let's see if he can thrive in high leverage situations.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 me too. i seem to remember something about a trade for some guy named escobar. You said ... Escobar!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Through 6, it's Good Guys 4, Los Tigres 1.You forgot to say ... This has been a CBU
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Not looking good. The Hildy Experience -- I would have run Magill out first, or kept May in for a second inning. Oh well.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 This Hildenberger-in-the-ninth thing hasn't gone well lately.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 given up 4 homers in last 4 times pitching, and cant hold runners , = Ideal closer ??
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Well, if Trevor is going to be the closer, they have to base his entry media bit around "This is the Day" by The THE.
