Kyle Gibson, RHP | 3.47 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 2.49 K:BB

 

Cleveland | 61-49 overall, 34-22 at home, 7-3 last 10

Trevor Bauer, RHP | 2.34 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 3.68 K:BB

Additional notes:

The Twins are 7-5 against Cleveland so far this season. Jorge Polanco has three home runs in just 22 plate appearances against Bauer. Gibson has been excellent on the road this year, posting a 2.94 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 11 starts. Over his last 101 plate appearances, Max Kepler has hit .301/.416/.590 with six home runs. Cleveland has had mixed returns from their bullpen additions -- Brad Hand has been great, Adam Cimber has not – but they also activated Andrew Miller off the DL recently.

Cimber being bad shouldn't be a surprise - he's a 27 year old rookie who was never considered to have MLB-caliber stuff. He's the type of arm that only really works at Petco Park.

I guess we are back to Magic Fingers Wilson catching at least 50% of our games. Sigh. Oh well it was a nice break for 2 weeks. We need to see what Bobby and Matt Belisle can bring to the table for 2019!

Since GT's are much more enjoyable when lighthearted and positive, I am glad to see Garver getting a well deserved rest, and that Matt Belisle hasn't been overworked and is available when our reigning MOY feels the situation is in Dire Straights. :).

Did you know that part of the agreement “Wierd Al” made with Mark Knopfler to parody “Money for Nothing” was that Mark played guitar on the song?

I did not know that. And in keeping woth my positive GT mantra, I will ignore suggestions on where the title "Money for Nothing" would be appropo in relation to our 2018 MN Twins.:)

That was a totally boneheaded play by Forsythe, that seemed to develop in slow motion. Cost them at least a run.

He made up for it by striking out, so he does spread it around.

In keeping with yet another mantra this evening, "Sultans of Swing" could easily be incorporated into a promotion for MLB. While It may be hard to work "and miss" into the tune, it could be any worse than "This is how we Baseball".
