We complained to the ushers, and they reseated us behind home plate. Looks like the Royals are committed to the rebuild and have brought the kids up.

Thank ashburysteven for helping you get this posted. ;)

ashburysteven's response: "not inaccurate."

I was going to mention this earlier, but it's too bad the Twins couldn't have found a rule 5 draft pick like Brad Keller, especially when they had the 1st overall pick in the Rule 5 draft in the 16-17 offseason.

Glad to see Morrison's hip impingement is better. He looked much more fluid striking out and hitting into what should have been an inning ending double play. Why is he playing again?  never thought I'd see us get a player who made me nostalgic for Kennys Vargas.

It's not often you see an RBI credited on a double play grounder. :) Kudos to him for legging it out, though.

On the TV it says 'First 10,000 fans get a John Santana Hall of Fame Bobblehead.'

JOHN Santana

The header spelled it Johan, but in the details, it was spelled John.

Nice hit by Dozier the other way and nice running by Rosario. Twins up 1-0.

I had the same thought. In fact I have liked his situational approach each time up. The strikeout looking wasn't pleasant, but that happens.

Well, there's another solid 6 inning outing by Odorizzi, and that's about the best you'll get from him. Time for the bats to shape up and take the lead.

Posted

Keller and Odorizzi both allowed 2 hits, 1 walk and struck out 8.

The difference is that it took Odorizzi 100 pitches to do that in 6 IP while Keller sits at 87 after 7 IP.

Duke's 3.31 ERA looks nice and dandy, but his 1.585 WHIP is getting even higher after allowing 2 baserunners and getting just 2 outs. Duke hasn't given up a HR yet so that's saved his statline.

Woof. This team sucks

How do you give up an inside the park home run to Drew Butera, a backup catcher?

It’ll go up now.

Jake Cave, our secret weapon from the Yankees organization. I'm not sure we're getting the better of these exchanges with the Yankees.

Dear SSS Jake Cave is a great find posters,

I give you a Golden Sombrero and a futile diving attempt that ends the game in the 7th

sidenote. Doze lollipop throw to 2nd on DP ball contributes to the end of the season

When did he make that throw? June?

I still can't get over the decision to dive on that. He had next to no chance of making that catch. Tied game in the 7th, there is 0 reason to be diving for that.

Sunday Sidenote #2

If Doze and Belisle are the veteran leaders in the clubhouse does that explain the Kepler bomb when down 3 or the bullpen following Belisle in giving up hits?

It might be time for new clubhouse leaders

Bwaaaaaaahahahahahahahaha!!!!! :)

I'm hearing enough of this at the game. I don't need to have the game thread be a road game too.

reminds me of a similar play by a Twins CF in the playoffs about a decade or so ago :-)

I imagine Cave is probably getting benched for the next day or so... of course, only rookies will be punished for making dumb plays and striking out too much.

does his name rhyme with Borii Nunter?

He's out of the game. I hope he's on a slow bus to Rochester. We'd be at worst tied, if he'd made the percentage play.
