sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 The lazy Mississippi is rolling on down to that there bayou out into the gulf of Mexico. What, with prevailing westerlies, i expect the breezes at todays game will wind up somewhere on the east coast in a few days. That there sun reflecting off home plate may tickle an alien astronomer's telescope in a few years or more. If they don't have to work for this game thread to happen, well neither do i. Some murmering memory wafts by of the Cobb fellow as a possible off season acquisition. Mayhap we'll learn something this game. All that said, i don't think this game will ever happen again. So y'all better pay attention if you don't wanna miss it! OriolesAlex Cobb (R ) 1. Tim Beckham (R ) 3B2. Adam Jones ( R) CF3. Manny Machado (R ) SS4. Mark Trumbo (R ) DH5. Chris Davis (L) 1B6. Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 The two former Rays pitchers have some down stats. Odorizzi's last win was two months ago exactly, but he pitched well his last two outings. He just had no bat support. As for Cash, his ERA is over 8 for day games and over 6 when away. Also, opponents are batting over .300 average against him. If we don't take control of this early and sweep, I may have to give up these games. And cocaine.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 more orioles. moreioles.I heard the score update Thursday evening from friends, one of whom was an Orioles fan, who when mildly mocked for it, immeadiately reeled off a long list of great things about Baltimore, of which the inclusion of pink flamingos stuck with me. I invited him to write it all down and send it to me so i could use it in an intro any of these last three games. Alas, i guess he has been busy. Still wondering what ties a pervasive lawn ornament to any particular city. Also another failed-to-be included detail to be worked in: one of my elementary school attempts at poetry was an ode to my orange radio with the handle generator which i used to listen to baseball game broadcast. So i mentioned the Twins Orioles game, but as i was using the affectionate diminutive 'Twinkies' i felt it only appropriate similarly call the oposition 'Oreos' I recently looked up how many flavors of Oreos there are... It is worth looking up yourself. Alas, that is more Baltimore and more Oreos, not more Orioles... Maybe Birdwatcher can assist here?

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 No, he and I are going to tag team it You have tomorrow, or the next day, apparently.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Only if it amuses you.Dang!!! I wish I could have quoted you before you corrected the typo. Or was it a typo? Or was it a Freudian slip? I literally lol'd, and I'm surprised the anti-obscenity system didn't pick it up.(For those who didn't see it one of the letters in amuses was replaced by the letter next to it on the keyboard.)

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Cave and Morrison should be flipped in the lineup. At this point Cave has more pop in his bat and a much better option than SloMo.

Blake Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 I just going to toss this red meat among the Twins faithful: I don't think Gibson should be traded for anything less than a king's ransom. Gibson has show some toughness in his starts the team needs. He's set a good example on the mound this year and I don't think that's something to be set aside lightly. And now, I shall await the rending of clothing and gnashing of teeth.

We'll have a rehabilitated and productive Buxton, a rehabilitated and productive Sano, and 162 games of Polanco. We should trade only those players who we think will not be an important part of next year's team. Any player should be traded if the return is judged to be a good return, but likewise the return should be someone who will improve the 2019 team, not a 19-year-old prospect.

Shaitan Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 It's the second week of July and Morrison's avg peaked at ..194. Why is he still batting 5th and Cave is 9th?
jun Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 It's the second week of July and Morrison's avg peaked at ..194. Why is he still batting 5th and Cave is 9th?Dozier is batting 3rd with his .218 avg. Molitor just loves Dozier and Morrison. They have been batting 3rd and 5th consistently for a while. I would like to see more of Astudillo and Mauer instead.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Jake is resisting to throw strikes....Hope we non-tender himIf that’s the case, they need to trade him. I could see an NL team using the tender so we’d get more value out of him.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 What's the reason Valencia's played on eight teams -- the O's twice -- in nine seasons? Attitude?
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Quietly, Kennys Vargas is on a bit of a hot streak in Rochester: In his last six games he is batting .370 with 3 HR's and 7 RBI's@LoganMorrison

I would like to see more of Astudillo and Mauer instead.Molitor is at least trying to spark Dozier by moving him around from 1st to 5th, 4th, 3rd, etc. LoMo has been 4-6 all year long with zero production. If your avg is below .200 after May it's only supposed to go up.
