Managers don't impact the outcome of games, but veteran clubhouse guys are hugely important even if said veteran is a negative WAR player. Makes sense, right?

I know this is unpopular, but I discount any player who’s offense is built around walks-based OBP. For one thing, walks aren’t as valuable as hits, and for another, depending on MLB pitchers to fear you and not throw strikes, when they have no reason to fear you, isn’t a viable long term strategy.

 

And also eventually, you score runs by hitting the **** ball, not NOT hitting the ball.
