DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Maybe I'm just a fan, but for every bad play he might make, I swear Rosario makes 3 or 4 great plays! Don Walcott, Dozier's Glorious Hair, Hosken Bombo Disco and 3 others 6
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Maybe I'm just a fan, but for every bad play he might make, I swear Rosario makes 3 or 4 great plays!Yes but you need to do that when you make little league throws DocBauer 1
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 2 runs on 1 hit, with an assist from Gardy on the IBB. USAFChief, Danchat and Blake 3
bighat Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I liked “cmon 9’s it’s just baseball” I also heard "DO YOUR JOB!" from that guy too, before he walked back and softened his approach and became more encouraging. USAFChief and Aggies7 2
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Yes but you need to do that when you make little league throwsAgreed. But that was heads up ball there! Blake and bighat 2
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I suppose that's how you combat terrible RISP hitting - take walks and make insane baserunning maneuvers.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I make fun of Rosario's...adventurous nature sometimes, but I will say this: that was a fantastic baserunning play. He totally deked the CFer out, caught him totally flat footed, and I think he scores even if the throw is on line. I give the man his props when he deserves them. PseudoSABR, Hosken Bombo Disco, Blake and 4 others 7
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I disagree. It was stupid and he was fortunate the throw wasn't near on target. Just like Grossman tagging to third, it's a good way to run yourself out of a big inning making risky plays. Both those guys were out by a mile with even decent throws. In hindsight, it's better he did it because Adrianza has little hope at the plate with 2 outs. With the bases loaded why in God’s name would he hold the ball? Just awful. wsnydes 1

AZTwin Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I love Rosario. He just has fun when he plays the game. That is a good guy to have on the team to keep everyone loose Dozier's Glorious Hair, DocBauer, Nine of twelve and 3 others 6

He caught the CF by surprise which is the reason the throw was bad. He forced the defense to make a mistake. Blake, Hosken Bombo Disco, Dozier's Glorious Hair and 4 others 7

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 In hindsight, it's better he did it because Adrianza has little hope at the plate with 2 outs.Agreed. I just accidentally deleted that post, but I don't think it was a smart play. It worked with a nice deke, but pretty risky just like the Grossman tag.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) Ah, the Rodney vs twins game 163. Matt Tolbert was the 3B yeesh Edited May 22, 2018 by Aggies7

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Because there was no need for haste. Everyone knew nobody was tagging. Heck if he threw it anywhere he would have been out. He just held it like a goof wsnydes 1

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Why do they have to spoil a festive time by previewing tomorrow's starters? Dozier's Glorious Hair, Hosken Bombo Disco, Danchat and 1 other 4

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Agreed. I just accidentally deleted that post, but I don't think it was a smart play. It worked with a nice deke, but pretty risky just like the Grossman tag.The Grossman tag was a horrible baserunning decision. He was already in scoring position, in a tie game, and the fly ball was out two. Grossman runs like a man dragging a plow. There is some advantage to being on third with 2 out vs on second, but not much. If the throw was on line, he's out by 3 steps. In contrast, Rosario's gamble didn't just gain a base, it paid off in a run, with 2 out, and Adrianza due up. I don't think the throw gets him even if it's on line. jkcarew, Blake and Nine of twelve 3
