It all sounds perfectly reasonable when you hear them explaining it, even the bad plays like that fly ball that caused Rosario to end up in the wrong zip code. Not sure but it sounded like Dick said something about the sun getting in his eyes

I remember early spring baseball. Your toes are frozen in your spikes. The sting of the bat was very real and on your mind every time you swung at the ball. 

 

Your eyes would tear up while you were trying to focus on the pitcher. You keep your throwing hand in your pants while the pitcher is going full count on every one. 

 

Your fingers are numb and you can't tell if you are holding the baseball when you finally have to make a play with it. 

 

It was hard playing baseball in this weather. 

I never played baseball in weather under 60. That includes winter ball.

I played some cold softball games in N Dakota.  Well, one.  Then I remembered I was over 30 and didn't really need to play anymore if I had to play in cold like that :-)

I read an article about the most boring cities in each state.  Grand Forks was N Dakota's representative on that list.  Of course, only three places in N Dakota qualified as a city...
