IIRC that's 10 non-starts at 1b already.

 sheesh.

Joe just might be at the point in his career that he needs this many breaks. I'm not sure how I feel about potentially re-signing Mauer to a deal if he's going to need this many breaks from 1B.

Yeah, if Mauer needs this time off then Mauer needs to think about that, too. Still, Molitor needs to, at some point, be the one in charge. Maybe his assessment is Joe needs the days, dunno. But the decision is ultimately his and not the players’.

What are the odds they get this in? I’ll say 20%

Don't like but agree.

Looking at the radar I changed my mind. They'll start late and play late but I think they'll get it in.

After looking now, I don't think game starts at 7:50, but rather closer to 9 and they play late into the night.

My teeth will be in the glass by the 2nd inning...

And here I thought we were finally getting a night game that would end before midnight!

I have serious doubts Molitor would take his “gold glove” first baseman off the field on his own.

The placement and context of those quotes seem rather ominous...

I was told there would be baseball on TV today, dad...

He’s not gonna make it to the end of the game.

I don’t either. It’s about Molitor. I’ve never been a fan of him as manager and stuff like this just makes it more clear. If it’s Mauer asking for another day, then Molitor needs to say no. If it’s Molitor doing the saying no, can’t have that as manager.

I don't know who is responsible for this decision. But somewhere Molitor has to be involved. If he is making it, he doesn't know what he is doing. If Mauer or Morrison is driving it, then Molitor isn't in control of the team. Which would explain Doziers long tenure at leadoff.

Buxton's been hitting a decent amount of hard outs this year--at least I remember the first stretch of games at the beginning of the year he was and there was another one there.  That can get a little bit lost/forgotten with the numbers.  Sample size is still small and a lot of that is amidst injury stuff.

Patience.

Big fan of Odorizzi.  Not gonna go deep into games and that's why he's a #3/#4/#5 but he's gonna limit hits, strike guys out (also walk some guys), and go 5-6 innings and allow 2-3 runs...there's a ton of value in that.

Really hope the Twins sign this guy long-term should he keep it up and seemingly he should.

Ugh why are we making Wade LeBlanc look like Cy Young? The bats almost have to break out against his soft-tossing sooner or later.

In all seriousness, though, look for LeBlanc to come out of the game after 5. He still isn't fully stretched out and is at 44 pitches.

Really need Sano and Polanco back.

The polanco loss seems to have been bigger than we could have imagined it. The loss of sano hurts from a “presence in the lineup” perspective, but he was doing so little, not sure how much he’d contribute except additional Ks
