According to today';s STRIB article.   Sounds like a painful week but shouldn't affect his playing.  Twins should encourage proper kidney health by renaming the hot dogs on Dollar a Dog Night -  Dozier Dogs, 100% meat and meat by-products..

Kidney stones are usually caused by dehydration (ie, drinking things other than water) or by overuse of calcium supplements, so I'm not buying it.

I have these from time to time and they're not fun, though they're also not what people imagine they are either.

I disagree. It's the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life.

Depends on the person.

My mom said her kidney stones were more painful than delivering Twins.

It was the most painful thing I ever went through as well. But the pain isn't where people think it is. The pain feels like one is being impaled through the stomach.

There are two types of stones. Each has the opposite treatment, meaning an accurate diagnosis is important.

But, yeah, vegetarianism as a cause...where's that eye roll emoji?

Bit confused about all of that.  KARE 11 had a video of Escobar interviewing Dozier yesterday, in which he said that he was hunting ducks and deer in the off-season  (talking about the kidney stone as well) :

I'll have to listen back to the interview we had with him at Twins Fest. I don't think he completely went vegetarian. I know he said he hasn't eaten fried foods in like 2 years. He said he's quit red meat, but I thought he said fish and venison... I don't know. It isn't a complete vegetarian diet at all. And, even then he made some comment about even having beef once every month or two because of some sort of benefit it gives.

He was probably taking supplements so he could get his protein and didn't drink enough water.  I am also going to guess he ate more roasted veggies and BS vegetarian food than he did raw vegetables,

Pretty stupid if you ask me.

I've had 8 kidney stones. One was 4 mm and they had to knock me out to let it pass.  Citric acid and calcium accumulation caused them.  I don't think dehydration causes stones but can facilitate their formation. Dehydration also led to a couple kidney infections. I've had a few of those too.

I concluded I wasn't drinking enough beer and the problem went away.

He attributed the stones to the leafy veggies in his diet.  Thus my suggestion that they name the dollar dogs "Dozier Dogs".   Maybe encourage a diet less likely to cause the stones.

Los Angeles missed their chance when they didn't pony up to acquire him a year ago. They could have marketed Dodger Dogs, Doyer Dogs, and Dozier Dogs. Stupid cheapskate Dodgers.
