Well, boys and girls, I need a distraction from life after the last 24 hours.  I won't get into details, but it suffices to say that this game (win or lose) could not come at a better time for me.

I know that deep in the bowels of MLB, they would love to see the Yankees advance.  I would remind those bowels that they still owe us for Mauer's fair ball.  Go Twins!

My last 24 hrs. yuck...leading up to this twins victory tonight!!!!

The Sun and excitement will continue tomorrow!!!

Just got home, I have about 22 beers in the fridge.

Hopefully that's enough.

Depends how long you want to celebrate Twins' Win and how much you spill, may need more.

Whew, I'm home. Wasn't sure I'd make it in time for the game, my car wouldn't start and I had to take the bus home. I feel kind of bad too...the ride home reminded me how mean people can be. As I was sitting on the bus, a young lady got on with her baby. The bus driver took a look, and made a comment, I didn't quite catch it all, but something to the effect of "ugliest baby I've ever seen," or words to that effect.

I felt bad, and she ended up sitting right across from me, crying her eyes out. "Tell you what," I said. "You go back up there and tell that SOB off! Here, I'll hold the monkey."

Anyhow, still waiting for another Chief joke, better than the first one.

Is no one going to question leaving Sano off of the roster? I get that he looked rusty over the weekend. But can't find a single person coming to his defense? He was the team MVP, heart of the order, feared bat for half of the season (the half the Twins were in first place), is a very patient hittter, and the Yankees' closer is a lefty.

I don't know, I would have found a spot for him. Even if it was a decoy to mess with Girardi's head. You can't tell me the Yankees aren't relieved to see him not on the list.

Not here, as he wasn't ready.

I assume no one is posting in this thread because everyone is currently throwing up in their toilet.

Or having dinner! Does anyone want to admit they had a certain meat at dinner? One certain dinner that's usually announced after a win?

I'm sure it was just an oversight to put the Yankees in the smallest font you could find. Stuff happens!

The big, bad Yankees. That's right folks, it's time once again to face our old nemesis, our Oglethorpe, our Goliath. But just as the Hanson Brothers hit Goliath over the head with hockey sticks, it is possible to defeat a larger, more muscular foe, if you are willing to do...questionable things...

Bunting early. Curve balls in fastball counts. Stealing bases. Unexpected shifts...why is Buxton playing third base?? Hit and runs. The hidden ball trick, played seven times. The baseball is round, and full of terrors. Can Santana throw a knuckleball?

I'm definitely disappointed Sano isn't on the roster... If not for the sole purpose of pinch hitting at some point. 11 pitchers doesn't seem necessary tonight.

Hey Respy and Chief, do you know the difference between a baby and a Yankees fan?

I was in a Walgreens yesterday, when this duck walked up to the checkout counter with some chapstick.  The counterperson was a bit taken aback, but recovered enough to ask, "Cash or credit?"

"Neither," said the duck.  "Put it on my bill."

That could only happen to you.

Something incredible like that would never happen to me.

Because we don't have a Walgreens.

Don't we already have enough guys who can strike out in big situations?

Great a prejudiced riddle, as all aren't welcomed.....................

Ish or Ick

Van, you check this one off the list, too.

And just for an aside ... my autocorrect kept wanting to change 'ish' to 'Ash.' Hmmm ....

Of course it does

Synonymticon.

Beware the dreaded synonimitcon, written by the mad poet, Abdul Alsoran, to summon half-remembered denizens of the dark tomes of English literature. Deep is its well of obscure jargon, vast is its ocean of conjured conjugates. Use it sparingly, lest you summon something unexpected, inexplicable, and downright incoherent, leaving you gibbering in a corner, pondering inexcusable oxymorons that slither and hide amid syntax both hopeless, yet alluring.

I'll be house hunting, probably, the first few innings. Let's hope the Twins have better luck than me, as one of hte places we were going to look at went off the market this am....

The 1st time I went house hunting with my wife was in January of 1997. We found a place across from a park and public swimming pool, tennis courts and outdoor hockey rink. I thought it was perfect for the kids and I wanted that place bad... it was perfect. We found another place for the same price that had a sunroom and my wife loved that place and it was perfect for her. We fought and fought about it and finally said to each other... Fine we won't get a house then.

Then the big Flood hit in 1997 and now both places are gone. It was our best fight ever!!!

The 2nd time we went house hunting was January 1999... Grand Forks was starting to get back to normal and my wife made me go look at houses while the Vikings were playing the Falcons. Gary Anderson was lining up for the FG when I said... We got this and agreed to go with her.

I've been afraid to go house hunting a third time.
