Game Thread: Twins vs. Detroit, 10/1/2017, 2:10 PM CDT

[glunn]

This has been a great season with a lot of solid game threads.

I am grateful to everyone who participated.

Now on to the postseason.

[TwinsCD]

Last chicken dinner of the regular season.  Let's take over KFC, Zaxby's, Chic-fil-a, Pollo Tropical, and any other chickent chain you can think of on Tuesday night.

Spank the Yankees!

[Squirrel]

Sigh ... and no post-game stuff. They always cut out of these right away.

That song is about one person and one person only ... and she died this year.

Ok, well, consider this the Husker Du version....

[Danchat]

Gimenez now finishes the season with as many HRs as our starting 1B.

I feel bad that you are not able to watch Laudner declare that Castro should be honorable mention Gold Glove because he has been very good defensively.

I thought Mauer might get out-homered by Bumgarner coming into the season, but he he was equaled by another pitcher!

I would pay to hear it.

Okay, I guess a 'be careful what you wish for' warning was in order.

Co-MVPs, then?

Thanks to everyone for another great year of game threads!

I'm already stockpiling more top notch humor for next year.

Edited for accuracy.

Also, this whole "Marney doing 9 things" shtick is stupid.

I tuned in late to the game, and had to piece together what in the heck was going on. Once I figured it out, I kind of enjoyed it. That might be in part due to a few enjoyable years where I got involved in amateur video production at the local cable-access studio. Getting to do a little technical directing, a little floor directing, a little camera work, a little being on-air talent, a little CGI, a little lighting, a little set design.... well, I could relate, so I didn't find it an intrusion.

We may need to form a coalition to send in some troops for an intervention to stop the madness.

Be sure to check the expiration dates...

Some humor has short shelf lives.
