sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 The Twins are in. I need say no more on the matter. Nice to write a game thread intro when the pressure is off... 11:11am... Vertical time. Trying to remember who introduced me to the concept back in High School. We'd celebrate by essentially signaling a touchdown until the minute was over, according to the digital clock in view. Anyway... things to ponder if you don't have anything better to do. Did someone tell Bill Gates he made a better door than a window? If Steve Jobs was in Vermont, did anyone ask him how he liked the maples? What kind of Beans are in the hill from Casablanca? I vote for Lima. Has anyone actually used a recipe for disaster? I know what your thinking... Did i provide 6 things, or only 5? In all the excitement of writing this thread, i kinda lost track myself. But seeing as this is the game thread, the most spuratic and topsyturvy thread on Twinsdaily, and can blow your mind... You gotta ask yerself... "Do i feel lucky?" I hope the answer is yes, by the way. This thread will be pretty short if it isn't. Oh, yeah... credits. Twins Ervin Santana (R ) 1. Zack Granite (L) CF 2. spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I wonder how many of the players are "under the weather" this morning. Great timing for a morning game-classic!I predict not many. Today's game has postseason implications as Cleveland has not locked up best record in the league and could still pass the Dodgers for best record in the majors. The Twins have a responsibility to play their best and I'm sure Molitor reminded the players about this before last night's festivities.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 too much 2% for JoeAfter being used to skim the hard stuff probably really hits him.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 too much 2% for Joe Sources say it was actually pretty bad for Smokey Joe last night. Reportedly, he got into the Hershey's syrup.

davidc3915 Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I like this early game! Watching without pressure, and not watching even though the season is over, is a blast. It's silent reading this afternoon for the 5th Graders!
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 too much 2% for Joe I heard he actually had a malt - with real whip cream. He passed out before he could eat the cherry.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Kepler with a lone hit of the game halfway through 2. Could be worse...
spinowner Provisional Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Dick just referred to the Twins as one of the most remarkable teams in major league history. I love the Twins and all, but for Pete's sake.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Robbie Grossman makes his way to today's game.

I love the Twins and all, but for Pete's sake. It was interesting to hear him with Jack Morris earlier in the season, and have him react to someone who is not all puppies and unicorns when talking about the Twins. I cannot even remember what it was, but there was something Morris said that you could tell really bugged him, and he had a hard time letting it go.

Yeah, it's a nightmare when Dick gets stuck on something.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Looks like a veritable pitching duel. How long ya let starters go?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Ervin tuned up. Castro too.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Whew. Lindor is lucky he didn’t hurt himself there. Ugly.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Welp, if Hildy is gonna give up a 2-run bomb, at least do it in a 'doesn't matter' situation.

big dog Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 So far, I don't think the Niko Goodrum bandwagon has a lot of mileage left on it. He's really struggling- limited chances, of course, but still- not showing me much.
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
