Let me see, I'm making up a lineup card..I am going to put two players in that are not hitting and one of them is close to a defensive liability while the two players that have been hitting are sitting.

Yep, sounds like a winning combination!

He also did this kind of thing

So he's clearly better than PM

That's pretty awesome. Big stogie, zubaz. Now that is an old school type of character.

Hang on, you're telling me that's out of style?

I need to rethink some things.

Can someone explain to me why I'm not in bed right now?

You got sidetracked by a well managed and well played baseball game?

Bases loaded in the 1st, score 1 run.  Men on 1st and 3rd with nobody out in the 5th, score 0 runs. It's these wasted opportunities with men on base that are just killing the Twins.  Heck, last night's game should have been 8-2 but instead it was 4-2 (against a very very road-weary opponent). Meanwhile, Cleveland has been losing and trying to hand us the division lead but the Twins just can't get 'er done.

We talk all the time about trading for pitching. How about trading for a guy that can hit sac flies?  Or a guy that can bunt runners over? The Twins don't have anybody that can do this, apparently.

Here's another old school twins manager (Sam mele) taking a swing at an umpire

Different times, different times.

I've seen that picture photoshopped without the cigar

Perhaps the Twins were trying to get their damage deposit back on their Metronome lease?

Perhaps it was the work of that cult who believes in the infallibility of Bob Casey?

What do you call someone who points out the obvious?

What do you call someone who asks an obvious question?

On a serious note...we still need a game thread vol for Sunday July 23rd, vs Det.

That's that last one open for July.  Jump on it.

I usually make a joke about Captain Obvious, of the S.S. Apparent.

But you do you, man.

It seems to me like Belisle is entering Blaine Boyer territory. He's not good enough to be a solid reliever but he's also not bad enough to cut, so he remains here. He's been pretty good as of late so I'll stop calling for him to be DFA'd.

But I will insist on pounding the table for sending Pressly down.
