Game Thread: Twins vs Orioles, 7/8 @ 1:10pm CT

This team has a real weakness against left handed pitching. We need a RH bat to DH. Love Granite and love the idea of calling up AAA guys that are really raking, but Garver would have been much closer to what we need.

 

In most other organizations his left-handedness would have gotten him called up weeks ago, but it's just the Twins' luck that their hottest high minors OF hits from the same side as two of their three starting OF's.

If Mejia takes the loss it's probably going to go by relatively unnoticed, but having him pitch in the seventh despite scuffling a little early on is another nice little step forward for him.

 

It's also another tiny victory in the Twins' constant battle to avoid ending up with a bench consisting of just a backup catcher and Escobar.

Yup, he pretty much did his part. But the Twins offense was off its game from the moment that Miley took the mound as his alter ego.

To me... It has become part of his charm and I'm at the point where I would miss it if it wasn't part of the broadcast. 

 

But... Yeah... In all seriousness. His depth perception is in steady decline... he need's to make an eye appointment over the all-star break.
