Eric Nordquist is the current producer for Paul Allen's show on KFAN. This morning, Nordquist presented his Top 10 Current Twins rankings... It's an interesting list. Maybe even listen to the segment to see how he voted/ranked, and then give is some thought. What would your Top 10 Current Twins rankings look like?

My current rankings as of this moment:

1.) Miguel Sano

2.) Ervin Santana

3.) Brian Dozier

4.) Max Kepler

5.) Joe Mauer

6.) Robbie Grossman

7.) Jorge Polanco

8.) Byron Buxton

9.) Jose Berrios

10.) Tyler Duffey

What do you all think? Again, what would your rankings be?

I'd move Berrios to the #3 spot because his value is off the charts with our large need at the position. I can't imagine life without him right now.

He is extremely vital to this club in 2017.

No love for the great framer, eh?  I think I would have to put Castro in the top 10 instead of Berrios simply because Berrios has only been with the team for 4 weeks.  If you are rewarding Buxton's defense with a top ten ranking, despite a negative offensive contribution (in terms of WAR), it seems only fair to reward Castro's defense and note that his offense has been quite a bit better than expected.

I'd keep your top 7 and go Castro at 8, Buxton at 9 and Duffey at 10.

Can't disagree with the names on your list, Seth, regardless of individual rankings. But I agree Castro has been a fine addition and needs some love. I'm just not sure where'd I rank him or who I would remove to place him there.

Mauer is interesting, and not because of the #4 ranking. Before the season began, and through April, I'm not sure he would have made hardly anyone's top 10.

I agree with RB on Berrios.  What a change!

I'd put Buxton at #10.  I'm still leery about his offense.  With his defense, yeah, he gets a break.  Hoping he turns the corner soon.  A .5 WAR is below scrub-level.

What's the list? I made 3 minutes and I had to turn it off. I can't believe how bad that show/station has got in the last couple of years.

He's never left my top 5 Twins.

Ok, I will reply then read what everyone else said so that I am giving an opinion unbiased by TD. I will also not look at the roster or stats. Hmm...

Sano (That one was easy...)

Santana

Dozier

Kepler

Mauer

Berrios

Buxton

Duffey

Kinzler

Polanco

Now to read what you all said and reassess my off the cuff list

Here is the fWAR ranking

Sano
Kepler
Grossman
Castro
Mauer
Dozier
Santana
Polanco
Berrios
Duffey/Buxton (tie.)

And the bWAR ranking:

Santana
Sano
Kepler
Castro
Grossman
Berrios
Polanco
Buxton
Dozier
Mauer

and the B/P WARP ranking:

Sano
Santana
Kepler
Berrios
Duffey
Mejia
Grossman
Castro
Dozier
Buxton

10 for the first and so and so and 1 for the tenth.  The consensus of all 3 will be:

1. Sano (29)
2. Kepler (25)
3. Santana (23)
4. Grossman (18)
5. Castro (17)
6. Berrios (14)
7. Dozier (9)
8. Mauer (7)
- Polanco (7)
- Duffey (7)

As close to a quasi-objective ranking as possible.

Survey says that Grossman and Castro have been more valuable than people's gut feelings...

Dang it, I forgot about Grossman... I guess he goes between Berrios and Buxton.

I believe Buxtons defense and the great need for Duffey and Kinzler are so important I move them up my list. I'm probably under rating Polanco still but I also had a hard time not putting Castro on the top 10 because of what he brings that does not include his bat...

And Kinzler is not on any of the lists. Does WAR in general rate relievers poorly or is this just the result of our RP corp?

Good call. And interesting analysis.

Our pitching is not fixed by any stretch. But overall, it's been much better than last season...(yes, call me Captain Obvious)...and I think much better, overall, than expected. And I have to tell you, I'm a fan and believer in Vargas and his potential and want him to stick and play almost daily, I have become a believer and big fan of Grossman. I think we lucked in to a nice player there. I don't know if it is due to natural maturation or a change of scenery, but NICE.
