sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It just may take a few games... I got O Brother playing in my background. "Governor, it's one of our favorites!"

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Been reading through this while eating pulled pork from the smoker that my son made me for Christmas, and the BBQ references in the intro gives me opportunity to ask a question of the locals. I'm going to be in the Twin Cities next week on work. I see Bayport has a buffet. Is this the best BBQ in town? Where else should I be looking? Recommendations on other places also welcomed. Best place for walleye? I've never had it, but I like fish.Bayport is outside of the metro, kind of an exurb, but the BBQ is good and they do several styles. It's the best around IMO, however in the context of great BBQ regions, MN ain't one of them. I have heard with sincerity "Uffda! that's some spicy Ketchup" It's an odd place tho, not swanky by any means. http://www.foodnetwork.com/restaurants/mn/bayport/bayport-bbq-restaurant Regionally Famous Daves is the place, but I'm not a fan. In the metro I like Dixies, but it's a bit sweet for my taste. Revival has BBQ on the menu and it's good but it's more of a soul food place than a BBQ place.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Twins tonight: Perfect, with the possible exception that the result may not have been either white in color or firm enough to roll...Sometimes you're the pigeon and sometimes you're the statue.
David HK Verified Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Haw haw!!!! I had to leave when it was still 2-Love Twinkies, to take my HS'ers to a drama competition. In between shows, I peeked at the Viking-esque box score!! At least my day started on a high note! And now I can finish it up in the late evening hours over here by reviewing some Prime, Grade-A, slow-smoked, and tender-roasted snark on a sesame seed bun! Good work, one and all--- Nothing like T-Daily posts to take the edge off a shellacking like that one! ....Oh-- I'm having a chicken dinner right now by the way, not even ironically in the least.
David HK Verified Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Oh, Lord!! I had to come back-- I've survived long enough to turn 59 this summer, and I had Jarts, a wood-burning set, AND those creepy chemical-creatures. Trifecta of childhood doom? HA! We also had the "Incredible Edibles"- the creepy crawling things made with chemical goop-(wait for it)that you could EAT! Somehow, I'm still here. Did I win?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Outlawing Jarts or Lawn Darts was stupid and reactionary. /rant.

If you are dining out and looking for fish, try Tavern on Grand in St. Paul.
