Who suggested that polanco's arm is not that weak but that he loops throws because when he unloads he tends to spike his throws? That seems spot on. Also, big knock Grossman!

Great to see them get a pair back.  Most people probably don't like to see Mauer having to run hard around third because it might mean a play at the plate, but it's a huge relief to me because of the way that running hard with his head down makes him much less like an ostrich.

So as I said on the Easter Sunday thread, I had my family over.  My son in law and I were talking, and my granddaugher was listening in.

 

"So how's your health, Chief" he asked.

 

"Well, everything is going just great.  I just had a checkup, and I was able to tell the doc that I'm truly blessed.  Feeling great, and the Lord has seen fit to bless me recently.  Every time I get up in the night to go to the bathroom, he lights up the room for me."

 

"Grandma," yelled my granddaughter, "I think I figured out where the smell in the refrigerator is coming from!"

I saw that too! 9 outs in the top of the first. Good thing they've only managed to push across 1 run despite scoring 4 guys! :D

See, mauer doesn't always walk with runners in scoring position.

 

But still can't drive in Dozier from 2nd.

We're getting screwed over by the new rules.

But apparently their runs are only worth 1/3rd making up for the unlimited outs and ability to keep batting and pinch running the same guys over and over.

 

I'm not sure about the rationale of the new rules... Seems to go against pace of play...

I'm not sure how this fits MLB's goal of reducing the time of games, but I like the outside the box attitude.

This is how the NFL is run... so why not MLB?

By the way, Vargas with a triple today in AAA...

 

Derek Rodriguez pitched another good game for FTM.  Hard to believe he's only 24... that kid might force his way on to the 40 next year if he keeps pitching well.
