twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Castro framed that pitch well!
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 A base hit? Give me a break.I agree that should've been an error.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 It's interesting that Hawk didn't say 'He gone!'You're listening to Hawk also? Congrats? Also, is this whole "Beat him arm side" thing new, or a horse he's been beating for a while?
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 So close to a double play! What went wrong that they failed to turn it?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Should have turned that one.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I get the distinct impression that very few game threaders are actually watching the game.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I'm watching the game on FSN on mute & listening to the Spanish radio broadcast. I don't care for Bert & Dick either. You will probably get more out of the broadcast that way. Even if you don't speak a word of Spanish.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I like that when Santiago needs a strike out, he just dials one up.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I don't even speak Spanish and I'd still rather listen to the Spanish broadcast. You ninja'd me. The rimshot still applies.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Mauer swung at the first pitch! I'm shocked!
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Mauer flies out to the right fielder... in dead center.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I wonder how long (if ever) it will take Mauer to adjust to having the RF playing in dead center and the LF practically in foul ground.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 So close to a double play! What went wrong that they failed to turn it?It just felt slow-developing on both ends. Sano's got a good arm, but getting into position to throw was lengthy. Dozier likewise wasn't super speedy on the pivot, somehow. I was expecting more urgency to each throw.
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I wonder how long (if ever) it will take Mauer to adjust to having the RF playing in dead center and the LF practically in foul ground.Fair question.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Rough bounce for Grossman on that grounder to take away the double...
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 It just felt slow-developing on both ends. That was how it looked to me too, I just wasn't sure if there was something more to it.
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Mauer & Castro put some good swings on those, but just got under 'em. Darn.
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 What a hit by Polanco. LOL. That'll work.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 That was how it looked to me too, I just wasn't sure if there was something more to it.I imagine there is. I wish I knew the fine points of playing third base, and the pivot. Something separate was probably wrong with each, on that play.
bird Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Shields is getting the outside pitch against lefties.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 You're listening to Hawk also? Congrats? Also, is this whole "Beat him arm side" thing new, or a horse he's been beating for a while?I have no choice, really ... I guess I could mute the TV and find a radio broadcast. Often times that doesn't sync up quite right. I don't think that's a new phrase for him. I've heard it before, but I only listen to him 9 times/yr.

hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Rosario walked!?! Come on Buxton!!
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 ok Buck... time for a bases loaded confidence boosting hit.

If the Twins are killing the Sox, listening to Hawk can truly be an amazing experience.
