I am devastated by this news… truly devastated. That song sums up my day today.

Roger Moore is gone. The first Bond to pass which is pretty good run considering how old several of them are.

Gregg Allman ...

Jim Bunning--MLB Hall of Famer and former Senator from Kentucky.

“I have been booed by 60,000 fans at Yankee Stadium standing alone at the pitcher’s mound, so I have never really cared if I stood alone here in Congress as long as I stood by my beliefs and my values. I have also thought that being able to throw a curve ball never was a bad skill for a politician to have.”

_{^{/ How they got 60,000 fans onto the pitcher's mound I'll never know.}}

Gregg Allman ...

Very sad, I'm a huge Allman Bros. fan. Gregg's voice so perfectly suited everything they did, his phrasing and timing were just so perfect.

So long Midnight Rider.

[DaveW]

Frank Deford, dead.

Meh.

[yarnivek1972]

RIP Adam West. The one, the original, The Batman.

[Pardon My Dinger]

I had no idea he was sick. That's a sad one.

If you haven't seen Lookwell, go ahead and treat yourself to a good laugh. Hilarious I'll-fated pilot, written by Conan O'Brien, starring the great Adam West.

I know. Partially why I don't play this game. Too close to home.

If my daughters are asking, yes, it is much, much older. Stay away.

73 doesn't seem that far away any more. But then, I'm an old guy.

We'll have to ask Chief what it's like.

Can he remember that far back?

[Squirrel]

Can he remember that far back?

He writes in his diary every night ... he'll have to check his logs back at the stone quarry.

Barbara Cook died today, too.

Tremendous voice. I had listened to a recording featuring her recently that reminded me of her voice. My vocal instructor in college lost a part to Cook and chose to return to Minnesota afterward, stating that if voices like that were going for bit parts, she had no chance at major roles. She found out later that Cook was badly miscast in that show with one of the best voices in the entire show, but by then she had a major illness that stripped the best of her voice. I heard about Cook in my vocal lessons a number of times because of that!

[Pardon My Dinger]

Jerry Lewis. Interested in a (surprisingly) under appreciated movie? Check out 'The King of Comedy.' Scorsese directs with Robert Deniro, Sandra Bernhard, and the late, great Jerry Lewis starring.
