I don't really have the desire of a repeat of last nights 9th.  Just shut 'em down and lets go home.

The shot of Kintzler at the end was priceless. You could almost see Kintzler sag with fatigue after that nail biter.

trade Kintzler now, I mean while I am typing this, before any GM can look at the box scores of his innings...he's like 6 for 6 right?

Despite that the first 3 I thought of after posing that question were Verlander, Halladay, and Greinke. I know I have a short memory.

And a bit ALC biased ha

Did you ever look up what the actual answer is?

No but now I'm curious.

By fWAR its

1. Felix

2. Verlander

3. Halladay

4. Mussina

5. Lackey(!)

6. Pedro

7. Weaver

8. Colon

9. Shields

10. Freddy Garcia (!)

But WAR's cumulative so Verlander and Felix naturally have the edge.

On a WAR/Inning basis (which probably lines up closely to FIP) the top RH SPs since 2000 are:

1. Pedro

2. Halladay

3. Kluber

4. Darvish

5. Mussina

6. Schilling

7. Verlander

8. Felix

9. Hudson

10. Clemens

By ERA:

1. Pedro

2. Felix

3. Tanaka

4. Cobb (what happened to him?)

5. Iwakuma

6. Darvish

7. Gray

8. Hudson

9. Halladay

10. Kluber

I'll like this as soon as the site allows...I appreciate the effort.

my preference would be fWAR because that means that I was right!  :)

Freddy Garcia! That's a name that hasn't crossed my mind in a good 5-6 years... John Lackey had a good run with the Angels too. I shouldn't be surprised to see him on Willihammer's list, but I am surprised.

Cobb got hit in the head with a line drive in 2014 and missed too months then tore his UCL before the 2015 season and is still working his way back.

Speaking of Tigers, is anyone familiar with Toygers?

Domesticated cats that look like little Tigers. My college roommate and I were seriously considering buying one for the house when we lived together. I was hoping it would have some wild blood in it, but unfortunately it's just a normal cat with tiger stripes.

Toygers are toight.

I think who the top 3 is pretty subjective.

Like certain stats the HOF voters look at,, maybe some pitchers rated higher up than better pitchers because of the amount of years pitched during a time span.

For me, the best AL RH SPs who spent a good chunk of time in the 17 season span we are talking about is Pedro, Halladay and King Felix.

I'm not sure there's an actual right answer in this particular case, but I'm comfortable saying those three.

Agreed entirely.  It's very subjective with multiple ways to look at it.  I think there are a handful of guys that you could basically interchange and get very little disagreement.  When talking about a 17 year span though, I tend to look at cumulatively over shorter spans that would take guys like Tanaka out of the discussion simply by sample size.

Toygers are toight.

We were convinced at the time Toygers were domesticated mini Tigers, which would have been toight. Unfortunately theyre just domesticated cats made to look like Tigers. Not nearly as toight.
