LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Curious to know which ones you think aren't chick flicks? Chick flicks can still be enjoyed by men, just like sophomoric guy flicks can be enjoyed by women. Can anyone play? Ok, I'll start off with 'Sleepless in Seattle'. You can't really count a movie as a chick flick when it contains probably the greatest 30 second deconstruction of chick flicks ever committed to film: My personal favorite: Victor Garber, sobbing into his hands in response to Hanks' recap: "Trini Lopez!"
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Bought a ticket to go see Captain America: Civil War tonight. Friend texted me ... she has to put her cat down today, right now as I type, wants to go have drinks later after work ... I'll be eating the ticket and will go tomorrow instead. Poor kitty

You can still enjoy it, though.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Hey Now The English Patient is chock full of memorable movie quotes that people repeat to this day. For Example: Umm Something about Maps and Geography and hating them. The quotes have stood the test of time Whenever someone conks their head and pretends nothing happened I point and yell "English Patient" as if we were playing Charades.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Marney brings up a good point on Play Ball weekend.. Who would win in the 1st annual Twins Daily home run derby?I can say I've had 2 career home runs hit over a fence in my illustrious baseball career.Sano Doubter. Or do they have to be regulars?

Bridesmaids and Princess Bride are not chick flicks. Yes they have bride in the title, but that's where it ends

Oh, fine, but can't we call it a romantic comedy, so watching it is less like dressing up in drag? Potayetow, Potahhtow, I guess. http://anotherimg.dazedgroup.netdna-cdn.com/786/azure/another-prod/350/0/350315.jpg

Yeah... There was a time in my marriage that I would let me wife watch what she wanted because I (we) felt it was only fair. She took it to far when she said I wasn't allowed to complain about the movie while she was watching it and we've put a stop to this "FAIR" thing pronto.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 In all fairness, I give props where props are due. "I'll have what she's having" IS the greatest movie line ever.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 That's a symptom of Tourette's according to WebMD. Yup, actually a nasty sub-category called Pop Culture Tourette's. 'English Patient' references are a fairly benign symptom compared to a full-blown 'Pulp Fiction' attack.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 So the Twins are halfway to a win without trailing in the game, which make it the... second time that's happened this year?
