It was like watching a falcon slam into the window of a skyscraper. Or like Baudelaire's "L'albatros". The Minnesota Twins are the poets of baseball. The just don't see things like the rest of us, can't be bothered with practicality or the tedium of running, hitting, fielding. They are challenging us to redefine our notions of meaning in baseball.

I missed the game tonight as I had band practice, but when I seen the score when I turned on the good old television, it was a dreadful site. Sorry you folks had to go through that. What a disaster. I'd like to think we can turn this thing around, but it is now more than a SSS. That sucks.

- Nice 3 run HR by Dozier

- Joe Mauer is Joe Mauer, had a couple of nice hits, likewise with Nunez

- Meyer lasted longer in Tuesday's game than Hughes did in this one. Take that how you want to.

- Pitching all around just isn't good enough.

- Hitting just isn't good enough, with the exception of a couple of / few players

- Manager with some questionable decisions this year, but I'm not sure if that even matters or changes anything right now

- Nunez being Nunez on defense. Not sure how he didn't catch that ball. Also, I still wonder why he refuses to wear a helmet that fits properly.

- Tough game to watch, but I'm sure there will be some exciting games to watch in the future with the bats the Twins have.

- I wonder how large of a role Torii Hunter played with the team chemistry last year. Something just seems off this year. They just can't get going.

T'was just a round trip to visit to check in on my folks home near the New York-Jersey border.

 

I added in Philly-ish excursion to see a man about a tuba. Last night was the last leg back to Boston. Slept a bit at the second rest stop and ened up catching a bit of commuter traffic.

 

Hold on... Got picture from the first rest stop that might be worth a look-see. Or maybe not. Took it from my car so as not to openly gawk...
