Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Oh goody, here's JR Murphy with the bases loaded. Our .079 batter with the bases loaded...not even the number 9 batter! (though I have hope)
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Murphy was the same guy who hit a three run HR off Perkins to win a game last year, am I wrong?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Murphy is doing so poorly I'm concerned his only chance at being a hero playing baseball will be in the minors. There is something so simple, yet beautiful about this post.
Guest Guests Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Unless he's facing an injured Glen Perkins, Murphy's offense is like Ben Revere, except without the contact or speed.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 And instead of a smile, he's permanently sucking on a lemon. My kind of guy. Unless he's facing an injured Glen Perkins, Murphy's offense is like Ben Revere, except without the contact or speed.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 So, will Hughes have some phantom injury? Will we discover that Fiend is throwing some phantom ball? You gotta pinch-hit for Murphy. Even a pitcher could do better in THAT situation, probably. This IS HOUSTON! Why!?!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Fiers went 4.2 Innings and was replaced by Fields Is it possible that AJ Hinch is managing alphabetically?
Twinsbar107 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Starting to question if the 4 hour drive each way on the 21st and hotel is worth it to watch them.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Murphy was the same guy who hit a three run HR off Perkins to win a game last year, am I wrong?Haha yeah, that was a crazy night!
twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 What if Eduardo Escobar has to catch the 8th inning when we're behind 17-9? What will we do then? WHAT WILL WE DO? That is awesome! I literally was taking a sip of my adult beverage and spewed it on the computer. Too funny!
Champuckett Provisional Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Would it be unreasonable to hope, not expect, that Molitor pinch hit for Murphy in the 5th with bases loaded? At this point I just want something to get excited about and Murphy coming to the plate evaporates all hope instantaneously.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 By August, Ned Yost will be drawing names out of a hat drunk against us for idle amusement. Fiers went 4.2 Innings and was replaced by Fields Is it possible that AJ Hinch is managing alphabetically?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Fiers went 4.2 Innings and was replaced by Fields Is it possible that AJ Hinch is managing alphabetically? Can we trade them Fien?
curt1965 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Oh goody, here's JR Murphy with the bases loaded. Our .079 batter with the bases loaded...When was the last time we had a catcher who count hit? Oh yea............now I remember!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 This mound meeting isn't to change the pitcher, Murphy just wanted to get a better view of what second base looks like.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Terrible baseball game by two bad teams.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Terrible baseball game by two bad teams. To be fair, Houston is hitting the stuffing out of the ball. But you're right, this is like a class Low A game.
jimmer Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 When was the last time we had a catcher who count hit? Oh yea............now I remember!Half a season in 2014. Which prompted a new contract that was Ooooohhhhh so worth it. About the last time we had an ace type pitching season from a starter, which prompted a new contract that was Ooooooohhhh so worth it. :-)
twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Another graceful route by our 3rd baseman ( I mean Right Fielder)
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 The skinny on graham, according to gladden: "He gave up some long home runs. His era was high in AAA, a little over 10"
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 don't even know what to think about that
Guest Guests Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Can we trade them Fien?Maybe they'll give us Jimmy Wynn for a pile of Fiens and six sticks of gum. Of course, Jimmy Wynn is now 74.
jimmer Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 don't even know what to think about thatThat routes like that are taken by mail delivery people not athletes?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Fifth inning and we're on our fourth pitcher. In all seriousness, I hope O'Rourke doesn't get marked unfavorably for this appearance. We could develop a very good skill in him as a left handed specialist, instead of using him as a fifth inning garbage guy who is needed to eat up innings.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Sano needs to be at third. This is comical.
jimmer Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 A great arm means nothing if you can't control it. Remember Gomez with us?
jimmer Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Sano needs to be at third. This is comical.comical yes, but is he athletically comical? That's what matters :-)
