Duffey to start Sunday

Just noted this morning that Tyler Duffey will be starting for the Twins in DC on Sunday. Ervin Santana has a stiff back, so Duffey will make the start. He was supposed to start for Rochester on Saturday.

The move will likely be made official with the second half of the transaction will likely come after the game.

So if Duffey's coming up for a spot start, maybe Kepler will go down and then on Monday Santana will return and Duffey will go back. Does that make sense?

If Sano is playing 3rd until Plouffe comes back, then I would like to see Kepler get a chance starting consistently for a while. Maybe just send down O'Rourke.

Same with Kepler. And Polanco should play every day too.

Buxton shud be the center fielder. Every day. If he isn't, send him down.

And if they do send them down, only until they somehow clear the logjam of a roster constructed so far. That said, if the John Hicks release is related to Murphy coming in from Rochester, I will go to the SW corner of my moms basement, put my head between my legs, and weep!

Twins announce Duffey up, Jorge Polanco down to Rochester again.

So it sounds like Santana will be taking Polanco's place on Monday... so Santana will be the utility infielder and play a little 3B with Nunez, I suppose.

I really do want Polcano to be given a bigger chance at some point this season.

Makes  much more sense  for Murphy to come up and sit than for  Polanco, Kepler and Buxton to sit.

It would make more sense for JT Chargois to come up and pitch than for any scenario involving David Murphy.

John Hicks release? Did I miss something?

Weren't you around when we finally solved the catcher situation? That was a great day, sorry you missed it, we threw a huge party.

Sorry, I should have been more detailed. A Murphy, or his clone can come up and sit. I don't want him up and playing to replace one of those you mentioned, or even Arcia or Rosario. Bottom line, this group is either it, or not it. If we get our butts handed to us all year I don't care! NO MORE FILL IN MEDIOCRE VETS!

Except he won't sit every day. If he was going to sit on the bench he wouldn't have needed a couple weeks in Rochester to shake the rust off.

Everyone knows that if he's on the roster the Twins will feel compelled to give him some starts.

We have seen it a thousand times with this club.

Makes much more sense for Murphy and his horrendous .138/.194/.241 AAA slash line to sit in Rochester or get the hey out of the Twins' organization and into the independents where he belongs...

Cannot believe that Ryan lost Hicks over Murphy... On the other hand...

Sano in right, Sano at third.  Buxton in CF, Buxton on the bench.  Duffy in Rochester, Duffy in Washington for a start. Kepler in Rochester, Kepler on MLB roster sitting on the bench.  Park hits 3 in 4 game stretch, Park moved to bench next game.

The team is really not playing well, go with youth!  Kepler, Sano, Buxton, Rosario, Duffey, Berrios, Park (he's our youngest Korean) Polanco, Escobar.  Bring up some relievers.  Let's at least find out what we've got.  Of course if it goes to Hell they fire Molly. I understand his reluctance.

They are probably a couple of weeks from bringing up the youth, but at the currant pace, I believe it will happen before the end of May.  Problem is to find trading partners, so value can be obtained from the pieces the Twins trade, not just given away.

Hicks hasn't "performed" in NY so...

It has come to my attention, that there are way too many Hicks and Murphys. We need to start using Christian names!

I would rather have kept Hicks. Catching is scarce; cast off outfielders are not

Hicks might be available as soon as this winter as a cast off outfielder, maybe even sooner as a dfa
