Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Hey RB...if I recall correctly, you used to be in a band, right? Some buddies of mine and I are starting one, and I wanted your opinion on a name. We're thinking of going with "999 Megabytes." We haven't been quite able to get a gig yet. That's a good one... If I was still in a band I'd use that. The other idea I had for a band name was: Band Width Problems.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I'm going to be in Kansas City for work on Oct 27, 28 ... should I start looking for WS tickets? I'm conflicted. Make sure they have wi-fi -- it would be a let down if you got to the game and found out you could not follow the game thread.

The other idea I had for a band name was: Band Width Problems. True story...There's a team in my Monday night bowling league..."Bowl Movements." DAMN I wish I'd thought of that.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I sorta feel like if one has a chance--any chance--to attend a WS game or two--any WS game--you should do it.I was trying to figure out how to buy tickets ... it's a lottery thingie ... unless I do stubhub or some such and I'm not sure how much I'm willing to pay yet ... depends on if I'm even working. (The trip could get canceled if I'm not.)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 You really painted yourself into the corner with that Fall Knock Knock Joke. But I really admired your attempt to escape... But in the end... There is paint all over your shoes. That's a lot of paint... I'm wearing sandals. Don't worry. Nothin' a little Turpentine won't fix.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's a good one... If I was still in a band I'd use that. The other idea I had for a band name was: Band Width Problems. That's definitely a name for an older person's band.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's definitely a name for an older person's band.Yes, but is it a name for an old, old, old person's band?

I know you don't want to abuse your power too much, but this might be a good time to throw around some of your TD clout and get some prime seats (although they might want to get you in a broadcast booth and interview you between innings).
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's definitely a name for an older person's band. Yeah... It was hipper when I thought of it like 20 years ago.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Yeah... It was hipper when I thought of it like 20 years ago. Now it's just gone to waist.

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 That's definitely a name for an older person's band. My community band plays in a community band festival every year called Band Width. The average age of people playing in community bands is only a generation or two younger than Chief -- so you have a point.

Dick: Ok as we get ready for the first pitch of the 7th inning. Twins with a 4 to 1 lead. We are joined in the Booth by ChiTown from Twin Daily. Welcome to the broadcast booth. Bert: How are you enjoying Kansas City ChiTown: Thank You... Pleasure to be here. Kansas City... umm... It's nice if you like that Dustbowl kind of thing. Dick: Now Twins Daily is a website with forums that discuss everything Twins... I know that Bert and I read it all the time. ChiTown; All the time... We should make you a moderator. Because that's a requirement. Bert: I don't read it much... It doesn't mention me as much as it should Dick: If you could put Twins Daily in a nutshell for our viewers... How would you do it? ChiTown: There are a lot of nuts on the site so there are nutshells all a round. It's like a Peanut bar in there. Shells all over the floor.

Yes - but they do not have to use their minds to process all of the subtle and clever jokes and ponder some of the complex philosophical discussions that you do on the game thread. Our minds are much more fatigued by this point of the game.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 What should we be more worried about? Phil Hughes pitching or the Twins hitting versus Kluber? Does this count as a successful jinx?

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Does this count as a successful jinx?It doesn't count until the game is over. You may have just jinxed your jinx.
