LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 He's still a fan of the team though,as he's hugging my Twins blanket.Well, he has a Twins blanket and access to cable/dish media, so at least he's more well cared for than a friend's college cat. Was waiting in the living room to go work at Twins game nonprofit group concession stand with him. He was around the corner with the door half-closed, whizzing to avoid The Trough at the Dome. "When did you get a cat?" I yelled. "What F#@%!^& cat!?!", he demanded aloud as he re-entered the living room unexpectedly, sans flush or hand wash. Their rental house was overrun by rodents, and they quickly warmed to the idea that allowing a stray cat to live in the house saved money on traps, a CO2 pistol arsenal, and replacement cost due to various household items becoming... spoiled. None of us ever figured out how he got into the house, or where he went. But he earned his keep and I always gave him a good scratch around the ears. And I always washed my hands with their Comet or Saniflush soap substitute.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I think the reverse. There you go, I guess.Jepsen had a dogs age to throw out Martinez.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Gonna see nothing but sliders.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The difference between a great team, a mediocre team, and a crappy team is made up of many many small details. The Twins, however much we love and follow them, haven't got greatness. That said, I'll be hanging around through the bottom of the 9th.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Well got out of the jam only down 1, let's see some fireworks tonight in the bottom half
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Alright, Sano, time for a HR!
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Gonna have to earn this one.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Well, right guy coming up at least.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 This is what ****ing happens when you build such a garbage pen that you are forced to lean on the same 2-3 guys every night. Great job Ryan. Great job. Way to take a borderline playoff caliber team and refuse to do next to NOTHING to put them over the top.Except the alternate guy in the eighth got the job done. The closer is the one who failed and every manager goes with one closer.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Mauer's been playing 1B for two years and if he cannot field a soft hop like that.........
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 In this case, I'm OK with pinch running.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Mauer's was a tough play, Jepsen's was not.Yeah, that play is a 50/50 play for every major league 1st baseman, what an awful throw, 50% of the time they "catch it" 50% of the time they don't. Can't predict that bounce.Hicks though, WTF man....WTF.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Bunt him over? (ducks)
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Sano learned from his AB from yesterday. Good to see! Now, Plouffe, do NOT hit into another double play!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 White Sox baseball to the rescue..........
formerly33 Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Here comes the DPThere goes the DP
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hard to blame Jepsen either, he never should have been forced into the closer role for this team. He is what he is, a solid RP. When he struggles like he did off the bad and doesn't "have it" the Twins should have someone to be able to come in and bail him out. Not his fault the next best guy available was Duensing....
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 At least the DP is outta play.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 There goes the DPDONT JINX IT!
