Watching Oregon now... If gophers beat Wisconsin and lose to Ohio State, I really hope they play Oregon in the rose Bowl. Herbert has a big arm, but isn't accurate at all. I think gophers would beat them handily.

Is that the most points scored by Northwestern in a Big Ten game this season? Worrisome.

Nah. Score effects. 28-9,  5 minutes into the 3rd. The 4th Q was a victory lap.

It wasn't that worrisome. Though I don't understand why NW didn't use that QB a lot sooner. Night and day vs the starter. If they hadn't knocked the NW starter out, they may have won 42-2.

Former Gophers Chris Streveler and Drew Wolitarsky celebrating at the Grey Cup parade for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers captured the CFL championship this past Sunday.

Strev was hilarious and clearly having a good time, lol.

Those bleachers look totally safe!!

People always flock to the state-of-the-art facilities, at least for the first few seasons.

Just a 48%? Wow, that is harsh.

Well, there are six one-loss teams, and four of them are currently ahead of the Gophers in the poll. They would have to climb over three of the four to make the playoff, assuming Clemson and LSU are locks. I also assumes Minnesota would move ahead of OSU if it beats them. The easiest way to leapfrog other one-loss teams is for them to lose. These are the results we need to root for, right?

Auburn beats Alabama this weekend

Oregon beats Utah in the Pac10 championship

LSU beats Georgia in the SEC championship

Baylor beats Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship

And also, Michigan beats OSU this weekend

Definitely don't want osu to lose. If gophers win out, they have the best 1 loss resume in the country, and arguably better than lsu, easily better than Clemson. No way they are left out. The stupid rankings have 3 SEC schools in the top 5, it is a joke. I'll be rooting for Alabama, Georgia, Utah to lose.

That was uhh... quite the kickoff formation.

I ****ing hate their kickoff formation. Have the entire year. There is a reason why traditional formations with specific lanes exist.

Pathetic effort. Offensive and defensive line are getting dominated. Linebackers are getting exposed. Probably should have taken the points instead of going for it on 4th and 5 with a bunch of time left. Defense is getting rolled.

Not a great game but i think this board might be a bit harsh. I don't think any of us thought this was a top 10 team coming into the season but we will finish 10-2 with a bowl game yet. Our two losses were a blowout today and a very winnable game against a ranked Iowa team that we looked like the better team for most of that game. I think the Gopher's future looks better than anytime since at least the Mason era but probably since Lou.

Agree that the team wasn't able to make adjustments and really surprised they didn't target Batman more but Wisconsin was the better team, period. I'm unimpressed with our big OL.

They'll still field a team for the bowl game and in 2020. Sucks no rose bowl, but what can you do? The biggest pieces they lose is Johnson, Coughlin and Smith. This is still a talented young team. Hopefully Fleck can inject some talent into the D line and LB next year. It is clear after playing Iowa and Wisconsin how much of a difference they can make.

I'm still rowing the boat. Fleck and co are tough and play with heart. I'm not bailing on them after as couple losses. This team deserves a bunch of respect for going 10-2 with a likely new years day bowl game.

I'm still rowing the boat too, but if this team gets a new years day bowl game then college football is broken. They've literally only beaten one good team. That one was a good win, but it's still just one. The rest of the wins were against awful teams.

Didn't they have a New Year's bowl a few years ago under Kill when they weren't even ranked?

I agree with your general premise about the strength of schedule but I would argue that Georgia Southern was a bit better than awful. They did knock of a top 20 team and finished with a winning record.

Perhaps Georgia Southern can't be classified as awful, but a big 10 team beating a sun belt team isn't noteworthy.

For context, LSU - an actual great team, beat Georgia Southern by 52 points.
