Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Ahhh, "sources". I smell a contract extension on the horizon. Or, at least more money added. Do these college football coaches have the greatest racket going or what? PseudoSABR and TheLeviathan 2
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Ohio State already announced their next HC so this is fake.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 I don't know why this is necessary. Being a college football coach is the best gig ever. Anytime you have less than 4 years left on your contract, the instant excuse comes into play. "How can I recruit if I can't say I'll be here the whole time they're in the program?" snepp 1
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 This is a racket. Racket I say!
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Doesn't mean anything. Coaches get fired after their contract is extended all the time. At least he beat Bucky, and the team showed some clout at the end. There is reason to be cautiously optimistic for 2019. Plus, players seem to be doing well in school, which is good to emphasize.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Recruiting class ranked #34 nationally. 8th in the Big 10.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 8th on the big ten... That is pretty telling to me. Maybe someday Fleck will convince a 5 star recruit sitting for 3 years at Alabama is dumb.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Good win to end the season. Next year should bring higher expectations than this year. USAFChief 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Not too hard to envision Tyler Johnson and Cashman playing on Sundays next year. USAFChief and TheLeviathan 2
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Congrats to PJ and the Gopher FB team. A dominant bowl W over an ACC team. Next year’s B10 schedule is about as favorable as it ever will be. Here’s your chance, Gophers. Seize it. 9 W’s in 2019. Vanimal46, TheLeviathan and Mike Sixel 3
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Not too hard to envision Tyler Johnson and Cashman playing on Sundays next year.I agree. They won’t blow up the combine but they are so technically sound and hard working they carve out long careers. Those two and Coughlin jump out when you watch them. Vanimal46 1
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Nice win. Georgia tech thought they were going to walk through the gophers. Have to feel positive about the past 4 games. Still don't think the qb position is solidified. With all these transfers from big school, maybe fleck can snag a good one. Minnesota should try to get bowl in the Vikings stadium. The ice bowl!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 I'm wishing he finds his way on the Vikings. Super underrated who will be a great value pick. LaBombo 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 It's that time of year where I have way too much hope in seeing a good Gophers football team. Like the past 60+ years, QB remains the ultimate question mark... Sounds like Annexstad will be out for the season, so the competition is Murphy vs. 2 true freshman. Looking at the rest of the roster, I don't think I've ever seen this much talent on offense. 3 RBs with 1,000 yard seasons on their resume, 2 very good WRs, and all of the OL returning. Given the schedule this year (No Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State games) this is their best opportunity in a very long time to make it to the B1G championship game.

obtusebanter Verified Member Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 (edited) Anyone else watching tonight? Rashod Bateman is gonna play ball on Sundays. Edited August 30, 2019 by obtusebanter Vanimal46 1

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 On the plus side, no one is stealing this coach for awhile....
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 On the plus side, no one is stealing this coach for awhile....Sure that's a good thing?
obtusebanter Verified Member Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Y'all know they won right? That 3rd quarter sure was ugly but, dang, the good guys came out on top.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Anyone else watching tonight? Rashod Bateman is gonna play ball on Sundays. Both Bateman and Tyler Johnson will play on Sundays... Best WR corps since Eric Decker and whoever else played with him. obtusebanter 1
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Didn’t catch the GG game, but see they prevailed in OT. They are a second-tier pick in the Big Ten West, but IMHO the division is wide open.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Pretty entertaining game. They have a punchers chance at the B1G West.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I didn't get to watch... but it looks like Morgan is pretty efficient. With Bateman and Johnson, why aren't they destroying defenses? When they had to score seems like they could. Without seeing the game it is hard to know why the offense isn't more explosive.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 (edited) Watched the game off and on while doing projects in the new house. A win is a win I guess? Tyler Johnson again is a very good player who will no doubt play on Sundays next year. Edited September 15, 2019 by Vanimal46
