S. Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 And we're not even going to use May. My goodness, I feel like Gardy is the manager here....To be fair, its far too late at this point. With that said, he'll probably get put in after we give up a few more runs.
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Seriously where is May. That was to be the defining AB of the game, and he sits?
Ben B Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 As much as I hate what Ryan is doing and think he needs to get the hell out, what are the chances the next GM isn't Antony or another one of the good old boys club? I think unless the Pohlads decide to totally clean house, it is a 100 percent chance the next GM is Antony. The Twins have too long of a track record of making the least imaginative hire every time.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 The bases loaded seventh inning spot with ARod up is pretty much the definition of a high leverage spot. Seems like a spot for the best pitcher you've got if you want to win the game.Therefore.......Graham.............of course.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 It really wasn't Graham's fault. He was put in a position he shouldn't be in, and Molitor can't let O'Rourke stay out there with pee running down his leg and load the bases. He shouldn't have even started the 7th. And his GM can't put Molitor in that position, either. This was entirely predicatable, much like the May fiasco last Friday possibly costing them three games. It really wasn't Graham's fault. It was pretty clear that the bullpen needed upgradin and more then just Jepsen. And if you look at the prices paid for bullpen arms at the trade deadline... I can't imagine why we couldn't meet or comfortably exceed those prices. I'm at a loss and it appears the bullpen is also at another loss.

I mean, technically it couldn't have ended up worse... although the ball probably would have traveled a little further.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I stand corrected. The Twins bullpen was in fine shape for tonight's game. Plenty of options available.I'm glad you finally saw the light on the fact the bullpen is plenty rested. Now the quality of those rested options...
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I'm so glad work will prevent me from watching tomorrow's day game. The only thing that can stop my self abuse As a good young Catholic boy we were warned regularly about self abuse!

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 My preference would be Bo, Luke or Uncle Jesse. Somehow I think we would end up with Enos... http://www.dukefarm.co.uk/Season%203_files/image015.jpg

I'm sure all of his teeth were smashed out of his head. A nice image for our Twins, yes.

AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Per fangraphs, Yankees were 24% to win before the ARod homer, and 79% to win after. Seems like a fairly big moment.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Why does Dick continue to make a big deal about Graham being a Rule V guy? He has four times the experience O'Rourke has.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Just... Wow, just... Ffffff... I wish I could say 'unbelievable,' but it's just too... believable.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 You know...big spot for a rookie...a Rule 5 rookie!

Jham Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 On the bright side, the game will finish a full hour ahead of last nights.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 don't worry, Hunter is coming to bat
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I have tickets for tomorrow's game. I'm not even going to go at this point. I'd much rather not spend 4 hours spending $12 on beer watching a snuff film then I would working. **** this team You used to be able to get 3 cases of Hauenstein long necks for $12 bucks!

The real issue, is does he put players in a position to succeed?

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 The magic of Waylon. I've been to Luckenbach Texas. Was driving the Texas Hill Country when I saw a sign saying Luckenbach just a few miles that way. Couldn't pass it up so we turned and drove the few extra miles and I'm glad I did. It's literally two buildings... A Dance Hall and a Souvenir shop. A Bunch of Picnic tables and people (tourists) sitting at them watching some average singer just strumming on his acoustic and singing away... and... and... Chickens... Just running around loose for no reason at all. I loved it. I found it completely charming.
