to bring this back to baseball, Pachelbel looks a great deal like Oscar Gamble:

A Polish Gamble in my dictionary is a team below .500 in August that still believes it can win the World Series.

Last time I fired one was late one night around Halloween. Soaked the tennis ball in lighter fluid because then it would leave a trail of blue flame you could see at night. Fired it at the back of a city bus as it left a bus stop. Whack! Then it drove away with a burning circle of blue flame where the ball hit it. We ran like scared rabbits.

BTW, they don't make pop cans from steel anymore, so that design is officially obsolete. Soup cans might work, if you could find the right sized ball... ;-)

Would, uh, steel pipe work?

This gives me a brand new perspective on the Cold War.

Gamecast showed at least two of the balls to sano right down the middle......true?

If it was ball two and ball three, they were high.

If you have a chance to watch a game on TV, and on gamecast  at the same time, you won't pay much attention to gamecast's pitch locations again.

Obviously Sano is the star of this game, but I hope we can save a little love for Aaron Hicks. He was really feeling his lefty swing today. Possibly a breakthrough.

I really thought someone was kidding when they mentioned Achter has an ERA of 40.

Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Hits, catches......but can he dance?

Not sure if Hicks can dance, but he sure can golf.

So I've heard, but rumour has it he's relatively new to the game. I chuckled a bit when he mentioned last night he's aiming to be ready for the Sr Tour, he clearly has no idea how good those guys are.

I was cooking dinner and feeding my worms.  I missed a good game.

I think the breakthrough has already occurred. Hicks was much improved when he came up after being sentenced to serve in Rochester. He has been that much better since getting off the DL and spending more time in upstate New York.

I have Miguel Sano on the bench of my fantasy baseball team.

:banghead:

But as I said yesterday, I can't wait to see Sano when he hits his prime. MLB, watch out.

That must be a better team than the Twins. ;)

That said ... great ballgame!!!

OK, here's a question. Brian Dozier has 71 career homers. Sano has hit seven. Which guy will be the first to get to 100 career homers?

Babe Ruth.
