Kevin Jepsen traded to the Twins

[DaveW]

I mean, he's better than Boyer.....

[cmb0252]

There it is! TR's "big move" at the deadline.

Where's the "I'm so excited" gif?

what did we give up?

Jepsen to the Twins

[Brock Beauchamp]

His fastball velo is down roughly 1mph this season, which could explain the drop in strikeouts but he's still throwing heat (94.4mph).

[Winston Smith]

Looks like a Boyer clone.

[Boom Boom]

I'm like the Pointer Sisters I'm so excited.

[Highabove]

Jepsen's numbers have been trending down this year.

Well, the FIPs are not amazing . . . but at least he's an AL pitcher. Jeez. Does the Ray's stadium have a favorable hitter profile (I hope), because his 2014 in LA was much better in terms of FIP and peripherals?

come on

[Brock Beauchamp]

Sarcasm implied.

He hasn't been that great, so hopefully it means that he'll come cheap.

But I'll take it. He's definitely a step above Fien, Boyer, and Duensing.

Will it seem like a slightly "bigger" trade if it's Arcia we sacrificed?

Personally, I won't care as much as some TD'ers.

[jokin]

Who is playing the role of Wilson Ramos in this deal?

[drjim]

come on

They actually are pretty close except Jepsen k's nearly twice as many per 9 (which is a small detail).

[Brock Beauchamp]

Who is playing the role of Wilson Ramos in this deal?

Wilson Ramos. The Twins just reacquired him for Max Kepler so they could dish him off to Tampa.

[Badsmerf]

I really like this move. A few seasons back she was huge with "Call me Maybe." Now, she is turning heads with "I Really Like You." Solid move for the Twins. I think she adds a lot of value going forward.

I'd fire Ryan in about 1 second if he dealt Arcia for this guy.

[drjim]

Two minor league pitchers. No names yet.

Controlled next year too.

Two sounds like two too many. They better be named Adrian Salcedo and Matt Summer.

Jepsen's greatest hit:

Actually ... I would never have guessed it. How should I address the exalted Mr. Pohlad in the future?

They need somebody for the 2016 Target Field concert and Kenny Chesney is already well into his decline phase.

Sell high!

And as we all hold our breath....

To recap, trade of Jepsen by #Rays to #Twins confirmed, #Rays get back 2 minor-league Ps. Working on names. No announcement yet.

[Mike Sixel]

This saves them the trouble of having to sign him to a 2 year extension next year, like all the other pitchers they acquire....

[SwainZag]

Any guesses to who the two pitchers are?

[Mike Sixel]

And as we all hold our breath....

Berrios and Gonsalves?

Achter and Tonkin?
