The guy with whom I had an odd infatuation with as a young Twins fan who also followed the Mets. Played with San Diego, the Mets and Kansas City in his career. Career slash of .265/.328.447 and a career OPS+ of 115. Not a particularly good defender, he still managed a career bWAR of 29.9 in 12 season, including 30 seasons of 4.2 or greater. Finished 3rd in NL MVP voting in '88, in a season where he slashed .288/.336/.496 with 27 HR, 21 SB and 99 RBI.

Former Twin from St. Paul--Tom Burgmeier. I remember him as a very versatile pitcher, who might go 5 innings one day and then be a LOOGy for a week, never facing more than a batter or two.

In high school I played against a catcher from Chaska, MN named Brad Gulden.

 

Next thing I ever heard about him after high school was when I read that he was catching for the Yankees.

Closest I can get to my age, my hometown (but not quite on either): 2200+ MLB PAs, six teams...Mike Kingery, Atwater Minnesota.

I'm from Murdock! I was a Senior when Mike Kingery was a Junior, and he struck me out at least once. Very impressive player. I was glad he had a successful Major League career. I lived in San Francisco when he played there and was quite proud to say that I was from a tiny MN town and had played against him. Way to go, USAFCHIEF!

This little known Twin had zero hits and two strike outs in his 12 plate apperances with the team, but did catch all 9 innings of a  J. Santana 11 - strikeout win vs. the White Sox

Another Hawaiian, an almost-Twin (Drafted in the 16th round in 2008), I got to see him play at the U. of Hawaii, now 2B for the Cardinals

I named Fred a while back. I read his bio when he passed away. Born in New Ulm and a resident of Sleepy Eye, he made one appearance with the '61 Twins and failed to retire a batter.
