What's your favorite meme?

There are a ton of memes that appear here over and over:

Mauer should catch again

ABW is the greatest power hitter evar!

The Twins can't compete, and should trade player x while his value is high.

Stats nerds don't like baseball.

etc........

What's your favorite, the one that when it comes up, just makes you smile. Feel free to pick not above.

If this doesn't stay light hearted, I'm sure it will be closed down.

Mine is the ABW stuff. Every time I see it, I just smile.

I still can't believe several people here think Mauer can still catch. That phase of his career is over, and there's no way he will be going back there.

It's always pops up like clockwork precision .... 3...2...1 (also in the case in your prediction of how soon your thread will be closed down when it suddenly loses its lighthearted intent).   The derision, scolding, mocking and appeal to authority of any detailed and constructive suggestion or criticism offered that might be an alternative strategy to make the team better.

"Not a real Twins fan" is one that always brings a smile.

I like things like "the twins should not trade player x for any package! He's completely untouchable!!" I mean every player has a price...the angels would probably give us Trout for Sano, Buxton, Berrios, Dozier, Perkins, Plouffe, May, Meyer, Polanco, and Duensing! (Also adding Duensing to every trade, that one makes me smile)

There are so few of those, they are real easy to miss. The handful of Good Winners on the board would certainly endorse this practice.

I know it's a message board but I generally smile at the massive overreactions and paranoia that can shift on a daily basis.

I also like the outrage that the most trivial moves/decisions can bring. It truly isn't official until someone's mind is boggled.

Are these memes or just personality traits?

I also like "moves I would make" posts that include 7 different transactions.

Mays/Blackburn/Duensing/Diamond/Pelfrey can induce weak contact, FIP be damned!

Followed by Ebola > Mays/Blackburn/Duensing...

A meme is like a balloon that floats past your window one day, and you notice it has a face drawn on it. You think to yourself, "Oh, that's interesting." Next day the same balloon floats past your window again, and then again, and you start to wonder if somebody's playing a trick on you.

It can take years to realize how many balloons are out there...in the ballooniverse.

Best meme this season is definitely AB Walker. He is both the greatest home run hitter in Twins history, and the worst strikeout victim in Twins history. Nobody hits 'em farther or whiffs louder. Reminds me of Babe Ruth. They say his strikeouts were almost as impressive as his home runs. You have to admire the dedication of a guy that has decided to always swing for the fences. There's a quixotic romance about the Lost Cause that can bring a tear to your eye...

To dream, the impossible dream...!

And trade proposals. Those are the best.

Hardly ever is a trade suggested that would have any chance of actually taking place in the real world.

Well, duh ... WINNAH!!! (Though I'm not sure if I like that simply because I like it or because it only happens when the Twins win).

And I'm still trying to decide if I were to ask Chief, "Is it Yes or No?" and he said "Yes," would that mean Yes or Yes?

Hmm, well, I guess my favorite meme is USAFChief. No offense to the rest of ya'll.

It used to be this, but it's no longer recurring:

Yes.

I noticed your signature. I read every damn word*, and it's a miserable curse.

Oh, and don't forget Pluto tomorrow.

*except from those on the ignore list.

It's not a meme or anything, but when Glunn mentions a "Dog Birthday Party" on the game thread, that is when I am in my high heaven of Twins Daily.

Moderator note -- one person's meme might be another person's sincere belief.  There has been some skirmishing above and that is not the point of this thread.

So you sincerely believe in Dog Birthday Party? Sorry to make light of it :(

I want to add one more point as a member of TD not a moderator.

It seems to me that our most important meme should be Minnie and Paul -- two guys (who look more like softball players than baseball players) shaking hands over a river.

Minnie might have believed that Mauer should go back to catching and Paul might have felt that Minnie was insensitive to Mauer's vulnerability.  Minnie and Paul often vehemently disagreed, but they always shook hands then probably walked off together to have some beer.  And because the powers that be were not guided by Minnie or Paul, Mauer was never in any real danger.

Minnie thinks that ABW will be the next Babe Ruth and Paul thinks that ABW will be a total bust.  Yet the truth is that one of them is praying that ABW will do well and the other one is secretly praying for the exact same thing.  Minnie and Paul totally disagree about everything, yet they both live for the day that the Twins win another World Series.

We actually went to two parties for the same dog, in different years, and they were great both times.

Everyone likes to spoil some one, and for some people it's fun to spoil the dog.

I just want to say, that I am totally down for a Dog Birthday Party, and I hope to get out to LA in the near future and attend one of those parties with Glunn. Hopefully they are kickin' around that time, either way, I will be wintering in Glunn's backyard shed.

Glunn, could you make sure you clear the Black Widow Spiders from your shed. :)

I'll take care of the chickens. :)
