Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Again too many missed chances early on hurts. The Tigers have our number. JB_Iowa 1
stocker08 Verified Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Pelfrey now as a 4.00 ERA. Can we get over the idea that he has to stay in this rotation? I really hope he and May swap after the AS Break. What would it have been if we had a halfway competent bullpen? Three runs through 7 and 2/3 innings is not a problem. Considering our bullpen problems.....May hasn't gone over 7 innings in any single start. That is a problem.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 My first look at O'Rourke. I don't even remember him pitching in Spring Training.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 It appears that Soria generally only gives up runs on homers, so here's hoping for an exciting 9th
jun Verified Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) It seems to me Boyer has been letting inherited runners scored every time he's out there. I am pretty sure whoever is reponsible for those runners does not appreciate that. Although Boyer has an acceptable ERA, what he's done is not acceptable. It would be a good idea to trade Boyer for a lefty reliever since his ERA looks nice. Boyer should not be trusted in any close games. Edited July 10, 2015 by jun Jerr and Danchat 2

Considering our bullpen problems.....May hasn't gone over 7 innings in any single start. That is a problem. To be fair May is handled much differently as a rookie compared to a vet like Pelfrey. They're still watching his innings carefully and on a firm 100 pitch limit per outing. Pelfrey can pitch 150 for all I care if he's pitching well. LaBombo 1

James Verified Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Well, that's why they play 162, right? I'm going to tomorrow's game, so hopefully Verlander will continue his trend of being horrible and I'll see the Twins beat up of the motor city kitties! Jerr 1
stocker08 Verified Member Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 To be fair May is handled much differently as a rookie compared to a vet like Pelfrey. They're still watching his innings carefully and on a firm 100 pitch limit per outing. Pelfrey can pitch 150 for all I care if he's pitching well. That is true. Still seems as though May reaches that 100 pitch threshold a little faster than most. Doesn't matter. May is going to be a valuable starting pitcher for this team. I just think that Pelfrey has earned his spot so far. Jerr 1
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 4 ER in 7 2/3. Not that great.I'm watching the game now and that comment is really unfair (and you probably know it). Pelfrey pitched a pretty good game. He limited the Tigers to three runs over 7 2/3 innings. That fourth run is all on Boyer. He had one job to do and he failed to execute. Pelfrey wasn't amazing but there's no way you can watch that game and pin the loss on him. He did his job. Squirrel 1
