I'm all for being positive, but a wise man once told me that you can't polish a turd.  Well, folks, this team is pretty bad based on what we've seen so far.  True that we are only 2 games into a long season and the score starts over at 0-0 each game, but that's as close to anything positive that I can come up with.

You guys still feeling positive and optimistic? Bullpen is crap, Rotation is crap. Offense is struggling. TTB!

It's hard to be optimistic after a loss like that. But, seeing as how there are still 160 games to go, I'm not exactly ready to throw in the towel quite yet either.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't believe our 0-2 record is accurate about where we are as a team. Things go a little bit differently, and we are battling for first place.

Is that different than the other misplay that Schaefer had on Kinsler's single in the same inning that they gave him a two-base error on?

Oops... My Bad... Got them confused.

I know there are reasons to think this is going to be a long season (the last four seasons being a big reason), but April baseball can be so illusory to how the season plays out.   April in many ways is like spring training, where adjustments are made and roster changes occur.   I definitely don't look at an individual's stats for a number of weeks.  How many times to do you see someone batting 400 in April only to fall off by June or someone to  have a 185 average and end up contending for a batting title in September.

Again, with the last four seasons, you cannot help but be concerned by a rocky start, but it is still a little early to be jumping off the top of the IDS building.  At least wait until the third week of April - maybe Earth Day or something meaningful like tat..

Why, are you slow and a bad fielder?

Guess what! I just heard from the Twins! They want me to take over center field!

Of course, someone was on the background mumbling about how if they are going to have someone who can't hit and is a crappy fielder, they might as well pay them less $$$

I think there are varying degrees to how everybody feels. Feelings range from not happy with our club to just plain happy to be alive.

This is more of a Happy to be Alive location on Twins Daily and if it's raining on the Twins... We are still going to try and shelter our parade.

There is enough negativity on the other threads.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this post but I'm pretty sure it won't work.

6.30am in Sydney

*stretches, yawns, checks box score*

That went well. Back to bed I think.

If James Beresford, Luke Hughes, Liam Hendriks, and the next great Aussie teen the Twins will soon sign were on the 25 man roster.... I GUARANTEE you it wouldn't have been this ugly today.

Still waiting for more chemistry lessons.....

I hear former team chemist Jason Bartlett is still "Breaking Bad" down in Florida...  Better Call... aw, nevermind...

Lewis Thorpe could have pitched right handed better than Nolasco today.

When does the HHH Metrodome open? I like the Met, but this team is not very good.

I hear the Twins have some good minor league players.

Thanks all for improvin' the game thread.  Just gave a quick glance through, and picked up a few either i missed, or gather new significance.  It might be cool to peal the cover off the ball and hand out a game ball thread, not to be confused with a game thread ball.

I am glad that game is over. :)

Few comments become more significant when removed from context.  This is one.

Do you not remember the bathroom decor discussion in the game thread last year? -- and I seem to remember something about curtains that went off the rails and was not an all together positive experience.

Thanks for reminding me.  Now i do remember it, and the curtains were extensive.  That had pictures of the designs and such.

I particularly enjoyed someone's saga to get enough fabric to replace all the curtains in a large home.

Not all may have been positive, but it was definitely interesting!

Anyway, once again, thanks for the game thread!

Good "D" from our outfielders!

Clever. It's a grade, but it also stands for Defense.

D is for Diploma. That's what i keep telling myself...

The mark of a true fan. Not to high nor to low. An even keel.

(Because the maximum multiquote appears to be two. For future reference)

I'm looking forward to that bunt single by Arcia.

I think we should go a step beyond "Beat the Streak" and try to break the record for consecutive games with RBI. Assuming that the Twins are going to score today, who will get the RBI? Obviously sampleSizeOfOne picks Santana and/or Mauer. But what about the rest of you? I almost want to pick V-Mart for the Tigers. Will that jinx him? One can only hope...

I'm going to jinx myself by drawing attention to my amazing jinxing abilities. One or two people may remember that I jinxed the perfect game the other day. Now look at V-Mart. He didn't even get a hit, much less an RBI. Hopefully I jinxed myself. Then I can root for the Tigers to lose.
