"....our guys absolutely do things exactly the way I would want to see it done." This just speaks for itself.... I just wanted everyone to appreciate it a second time (Spoiler alert, you may see it again from time to time over the next month)

Arraez batting fifth..... the run of Beckham, Kepler, and Leon striking fear into the opposing pitchers with Cave and Sanchez lurking to strike as pinch hitters..... Well, it looks like we've almost reached terminal velocity and the parachute hasn't opened yet!!!!

"I really didn't like the lack of communication on a really unusual play." (Because it most it was most certainly NOT on my spreadsheet... and I Iet the umpire know that in no uncertain terms ?)

You way beat me to it. I would be fascinated to see the algorithm that spit out Beckham as the DH on Rocco's spreadsheet. (And what went through his head.!!!!... "well seems kinda crazy using simple logic, but the spreadsheet doooes say it, so apparently that 0.091 batting average and OBP could be juuuust what the doctor ordered for this offence!" There is a little saying that researchers use about statistical analysis/analytics that Rocco may need to be made aware of: Garbage in... Garbage out.

Leadership Seems Lacking as Twins Look Lifeless
D.C Twins replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Teams eventually take on the personality of their leader. Baldi is an analytic apologist with little to minimal natural leadership skills. And yes, when an entire team underperforms for long periods of time.... OF COURSE it is on leadership. If you don't believe that, then there is no purpose for a manager at all. I said this last year multiple times and will say it again. When Baldi is eventually fired (and he will, unfortunately probably not after this year but likely next), he will not get another managerial job in the MLB because he is simply not great managerial material. No team is waiting with bated breath for him to be fired so that they can swoop him up. He will be a great bench coach or front office asset for many years though!- 47 replies

Lee is easily the best person to follow in the entire organization and likely will remain so until Buck's knee heals (Miranda may beg to disagree)

I don't know how good or bad Sisk would be in the MLB but he really cannot be worse than Pagan at this point and we would get valuable information for next year. The only purpose Pagan staying on the team right now is to protect the ego of the front office that traded for him and an injured arm. ... And to be clear, the injured arm has a higher WAR than Pagan at '0.' ?

The Twins Have a Long Man... Or Not
D.C Twins replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I called for him to be up and in the MLB bullpen and I'm glad he got the call. With a wipe out pitch, you can be valuable in relief. He has one and some other pitches. The other pitches aren't good enough for long outings- 31 replies

I know I might be in the minority on this site, but I thought Gardy was a very good manager. We are currently missing some of the intangible spark that he provided. I wonder if his son could eventually be a good hybrid of an analytics based manager with more natural leadership and communication talent.

If this ends up being thoracic outlet syndrome? ? And yes, shoulder problems are definitely more concerning than elbow problems.... so if the FO missed something serious and more long term that is egregious.

Kepler is 0-27 since returning from the IL. Whether injury (most likely due to his toe) or ineptitude, he needs to sit for a bit. This alone is nowhere near the extent of our problems (Baldi... not that you care, but your overall use of the pitching staff hurts my soul), but certainly a worthy place to start

I continue to watch the Sabato AA 'experiment' in awe, sprinkled with morbid curiosity... It would be fascinating to hear from the FO what they saw in his A ball performance that screamed "this guy needs a bigger challenge!"

This is It For Miguel Sano: What Now?
D.C Twins replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Wish him the best of luck but won't miss him even a little... Another team can enjoy yearly articles that 'he is in the best shape of his life' and that he has learned to stop chasing the outside slider- 33 replies

Understanding Alex Kirilloff's Wrist Surgery
D.C Twins replied to Lucas Seehafer PT's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
As I've said in previous posts, his career is in jeopardy. The wrist is a complex and delicate anatomic area which is obviously under repeated stress with MLB swings. The hard part of this will be for the surgeons to estimate the accurate amount of shortening needed to optimize (an educated guess no matter how talented they are and there is no way to gauge success until well after the surgery is done). I wish him the absolute best, but am very worried for his future -
Will Alex Kirilloff Ever Truly Recover?
D.C Twins replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This wrist is a complex and delicate joint. As mentioned in a string early this year or last, his wrist is definitely a threat to his entire career. Scar tissue sporadically breaking up and causing acute inflammation and pain would be the best explanation because that should become less frequent and severe over time. Fingers crossed but worried -
