  1. If my closer was traded the day before the season I put whomever I feel like in the 9th. If it fails its on the front office, at least for a couple of weeks of letting the bullpen pecking order reset.
  2. Are they confident in Paddack's elbow? I thought I read that last year he had a slight UCL tear and treated it with stem cells.
  3. I don't think the FO loves rogers, hence the Alex Colome experience. Or like its been said they might value the years of control and think its the best possible return.
  4. If some bullpen arms develop or step up in a big way.
  5. Higher upside than Shoemaker. Probably hoping to get 12 starts out of him
  6. I little bit expect Cashman to call falvey and make him trade Correa to the Yankees.
  7. Very bizarre. The opt-outs make it feel like a rental, though at least you're not giving up prospects for the rental. Its a needle moving move for sure. I hope enough pitching is found to make years 2 & 3 worth considering .
  8. I don't understand this from the Yankees side, I thought they'd just sign Correa. Although they still might.
  9. A couple of ideas to add to Van - with Covid 2020, we learned to live without a lot. And most people still have a ton of catching up to do with missed vacations, family gatherings, etc. You might fill Yankee stadium, but the midwest treasures our summers more than a 500 dollar family outing to see a semi competitive ball club. If MLB wanted to grow its game, they'd be figuring out how to partner with today's content creators - "Mr Beast reacts to the defensive plays of the week".
  10. Cleveland's model is what is being followed here. They didn't ever add mid rotation starters. If any are brought on it will be another Happ contract because the stable isn't ready yet
  11. Supply chain and labor shortages are sure to affect MLB and their ballparks. I wonder if owners know this and assume they can't staff ballparks until college kids/summer help is available and in the meantime lock things out to get as good of a deal as they can.
  12. Not saying they're done looking, but I think they could convince themselves Beckham gets 50 games, Polanco 50, Lewis/Gordon make up the rest hopefully
  13. Of all the potential SS options kicked around for the last 5 months, no one had Beckham. Falvey gets us again!
  14. I was against odorizzi but didn't realize he would only make 8 million. He's okay i guess better than happ but similar to what Gant was doing.
  15. NFL playoffs are about to start and they have proved again to have an amazing product. The discussed MLB topics are important, but both sides should be trying to emulate the excitement, accessibility and continued relevance of the NFL, or people will choose the lakes in the summer and save sports entertainment dollars for the NFL experience.
  16. Yes who else is on the 'Kyle Garlick List'?
  17. I had liked some of the trade ideas for shortstops. However, the FO hasn't made many offseason trades in their tenure that I can think of, so its probably going to be a Galvis.
  18. You only need a starter to go 4 or 5 innings with an elite bullpen. Maybe that's the plan.
  19. Its a difficult evaluation, in a sense like Buxton. Twins and Rocco have won at a good clip when Buxton is on the field. So my assessment is Rocco isn't a miracle worker. And that's ok, few can do much more than write down the names of who you have. I just want to see him kick some dirt and yell at an umpire.
  20. Falvey sounds committed to his young upcoming arms. It would be cool to see some legit bullpen pieces added though.
  21. As a stopgap, how about Elvis Andrus. He could be got for nearly nothing from Oakland. Looks to be at least competent. Maybe even as a throw in as part of a trade for Manea.
  22. I have loved what Thielbar has done the last 2 years. He gets an A from me. Alcala seemingly gave up a homerun at any meaningful spot. He gets a D.
  23. I like the roster ideas, Verlander probably isn't likely but it will be a long cold winter if we only imagine the most plausible scenarios.
  24. I would expect the disparity to be similar if it only reflected bullpen innings, which I would think are where velocity has really impacted the modern game, save for Degrom and Scherzer types.
