  1. A lot of good posts here that resonate. Star power has put butts in seats before despite costs. It's just not there.
  2. You can watch all this excitement for the low price of $20/month
  3. Getting him back before the deadline will be like making a trade
  4. A big swing might be position changes for Correa and Buxton. Maybe 1B for Correa LF Buxton, to try to minimize impact on their bodies. Not advocating but there's some precedent.
  5. Loved this - see 2009 as game 163 was just written about. Orlando Cabrera made that team go.
  6. Along with the contraction speak I expect we're not far from 'You know...Target Field is 14 years old and isn't generating enough revenue...we need a new one'
  7. I thought this was a great piece. Well written. I think on top of accessibility, growing apathy has been fueled by lack of star power, driven by injuries, performance, development, strategy. I'm afraid the team probably has to make some smart trades to get some impact youth, and then pray for health, and then let them play baseball.
  8. I haven't been a Rocco hater, but look at Detroits team. Tarik Skubal and 25 other guys. And A J Hinch.
  9. If other teams in town continue their relevancy it's going to take something besides right sizing payroll this offseason to attract anything but apathy from the fan base. Good luck Derek. Probably best to revisit 2001s Get to know 'em campaign and sell the masses on Zebby and Wallner
  10. I feel your words should be the prologue of the 30 for 30 on the Minnesota Sports Curse.
  11. Surely they must have a box of cake mix left from Cooking with Coom
  12. And at 40 million we'll still be able to compete in the Central Division
  13. Does Coaching Staff create hitting approach or is an analytical driven directive that they're in charge of implementing?
  14. Zack Littel being a successful starter for the Rays seems to be the most fictitious part.
  15. I think the Margot deal would have been similar where we would have had to kick in money to trade either player. Then you start considering signing depth for what you lost, so the money becomes a wash, and then you might as well keep two guys you have and like in Vazquez / Farmer.
  16. I take the trade as an indicator on the Buxton plan, probably 50 games in CF. Castro 30, Margot 80. Buxton DHs for the other 50. Heavy DH early. Hopefully Buxton plays 150 in CF but not likely.
  17. If either Correa or Buxton have good healthy seasons, should they be considered on the block?
  18. This is the thing I don't understand. Feels like it should have been a must have in the deal.
  19. Was going to make this point. I loved watching Polanco especially in clutch situations but he played more than 105 games 3 out of 8 years less 2020. We have too much of that on this team
  20. Every ball hit to him was an adventure, but his one good year he had every big RBI
  21. And won a divisional game so it wasn't just cute little wild card games.
  22. Houston is a buzz saw but now our boys are playing with house money. No fear. Let's do it
