    KC had impact pitching during their peak. Impact bullpen pitching of course. Twins have a good bullpen, but not dominant. To me, as a few others have suggested, that's a way to salvage the offseason by trading for a couple more bullpen pieces. A Wade Davis or Jake McGee might cost nothing and benefit from getting out of Colorado. If Hader is being dangled, make an offer. The bullpen is good. But a dominant one could advance in October.

    This to me is the reality of Minnesota Twins baseball. Compete for the division every year and fill up the park is the business goal. I wish there was more willingness to take some measured risks that might result in competitive October baseball. That could have happened last July, and is what us faithful are hoping for this offseason.

    The Twins knew in July that the rotation had one player committed to 2020. Another reason to do something at the trade deadline that netted an injured relief pitcher, at the last second. Stroman perhaps could have been had. Bumgardner could have been introduced to Minnesota and its horse friendly prairie land.

    This FO should be able to rebuild quicker because of their ability to identify and develop pitching talent. If you give up some top talent in a trade there should likely be a plethora ready at Single A ready to bubble up and over.

    If the MLB rotation included 3 of these 4 to start the season, who would project to make up the AAA rotation?

    I think that's why a Price trade makes sense as Boston as far as I know is figuring out how to fit a Betts contract into their budget. I'm sure Boston is asking teams to take on his whole contract and we're waiting for that to come down into the 20-25/yr range.

    I'm guessing you started with the Kole Calhoun bit and worked around it. Genius.

    As long as Romo can spin his sliders he'll be useful. If nothing else after Odo puts in his typical 5 and 2/3, but has 112 pitches and 2 runners on base, Romo can put out that fire.

    I think the price of a future Berrios extension went up this winter and is blowing up the future budget. I think theres still a chance for Keuchel or Ryu for 2 years and a nice couple option years, but I don't expect any long term deal for Bumgardner. Bring on Thorpedo and Smeltzer.

    I wasn't advocating it but I thought he was a sure thing. Former Cy Young winner fits the 'impact pitcher' narrative, available for a 1 or 2 year deal.

    Ryu like all these players has an agent. He will include the Twins if it means additional leverage

    I had this same idea about Darvish after seeing some speculation about Boston moving Price. The amount of money you are willing to take on likely dictates what you have to give up in terms of prospects.

    If Moustakas gets 4 years, Donaldson's looking for 4 or 5. Probably will get like 4 years 88. I could see ChiSox getting aggressive and moving Moncada to 2B

    Probably have to get creative. Collin McHugh and turn him back to a starter? Hope for a Rick Porcello bounceback? Sign Brett Anderson and Rich Hill and hope to get 25 combined starts?

    Donaldson's a beast and an MVP. Moose seems to be a great clubhouse guy and kept the Brewers in things after Yelich went down. No thanks on Todd Frazier though.

    I expect Cinci thinks they can get a decent return in July for Bauer if they happen to be out of things.

    If we don't retain Odorizzi then I'd consider Gibson as an option, but I'd rather not have both

    Encarnacion is on my list of former Yankees we should sign just so they don't destroy us anymore - along with Didi, Gardner, probably others...

    The unbalanced schedule will continue to elevate one team from the Central every year and properly expose them, less Cleveland of recent years. Many wins against 3 terrible division opponents in their empty stadiums. Come playoff time our Central champs receive culture shock of The Stadium and are exposed to be the 84 win team they would probably be with a balanced schedule.
