  1. I assume Romero has an innings limit so to me a move to the bullpen lengthens his season. I prefer that at least to option 1 and/or a Mid-august shutdown.
  2. I turned on the game and saw Adrianza at bat with (8) batting spot shown - it took me a solid 40 seconds to figure out who could possibly be bad enough to be batting behind Adrianza...subconscious denial I guess. Rosario and Kepler continue to get better, Sano and Buxton do not. To me that seems like an indictment of the player more than the coaches. It feels like Dozier has been on an island all year, like he's not engaged or something. Paxton's great but someone else needs to step up before some of the AA and AAA guys seem like better options. That might be July.
  3. The only way these toothless Tigers should beat you is if you give up too many walks which has been Lynn's downfall. Good first step.
  4. How about Buxton to 10 day DL because his foot is still sore - and then let him do the appropriate rehab at Double A. To save front office face I guess. Gordon up.
  5. How did we fix Buxton last year - let's do that
  6. Lynn's leash is getting shorter at 3 innings. I'm sure he'll keep starting but it'd be nice to have slegers or may there as long man after Lynn's starts get down to 1 2/3.
  7. There's a lot of eventual roster moves to be made with Santana, May, Sano, Polanco and Castro eventually coming back. Their hands will likely be forced with Hughes.
  8. I'm annoyed as much as the continued slump of Free Agent Brian Dozier. Yes he's very streaky and carries the team at times but 0-5 and 3-42 when the team is tail spinning. Also agree that Robbie has to go. He's a nice pinch hitter for an NL team. A 4th outfielder has to play defense over hitting. And hitting he isn't either anyway.
  9. My attitude soured on the team just a little bit at the beginning of the year when Dozier gave his 'I'm a free agent' speech. I wonder if that soured any of the immeasurable mojo.
  10. With a 9+ era from the bullpen during this skid there has to be something systematically wrong here.
  11. Not sure how the Jose Bautista-back-to-3B experiment is going in Atlanta but he'd be a nice platoon partner for Morrison or as a replacement for Grossman in RF here.
  12. This is where my mind was going. I know Alston doesn't throw any pitches but there seems to be some strategic misunderstanding here - I think Alston is a 'Fastball' guy - command and control it and everything else falls into place, or something along that. There seems to be progress with Berrios, Pressly and even Gibby. Everyone else either 'doesn't get it' and just thinks that commanding your fastball means throw fastballs right over the dish.
  13. I think robbie grossman should get some at bats at dh while Lomo fights through it. I was pleasantly surprised at Hildenberger's recovery after the meatball pitch that brought in the run. I was pleased with the competitiveness of our Twins against a really good team especially with no one really locked in at the plate.
  14. I don't think the Blackmon deal was too bad except that the last 2 years were player options. If they were team options or vesting options I'd go for something similar for Dozier
  15. So we ended up not seeing the Rule 5 guy right?
  16. They've really only hit a couple balls hard...
  17. I agree with Jaleel - Twins can top Indians. Indians' pitching is stellar but I'm not crazy about their offensive depth after Lindor and Ramirez. 93-69 Division crown Offensive player: Byron Buxton Most home runs: Eddie Rosario Starting pitcher: Lance Lynn Relief Pitcher: Addison Reed Twins rookie: Stephen Gonzales. I love the breadth of plausibility on all of these predictions!
  18. I thought the screws would be tightened down on this topic after Ervin PLUS the new front office regime.
  19. I'm guessing he'll be offered a 3 year contract by the Twins but Dozier will be looking for 5 or 6 years. I doubt he'll find it but will be turned off by the Twins' offer and will go elsewhere. Then he'll come back 7 years later and we'll make a Brian Dozier video compilation set to the 'I'm coming home' song to be played at his first game.
  20. Adrianza has hardly established himself nor should be guaranteed anything. I think he's just fine and should beat out an aging veteran but there's no harm in competition
  21. Let's bring him in for a meeting during NFC championship week -- he can blow the big horn at the beginning of the game
