  1. I'm satisfied. Especially because Graterol went to the NL instead of Boston.
  2. Martin, Lee, and Stevenson: 11 ABs, 6 hits, 3 BBs, 3 SBs, 3 Ks. Gallo, Solano, and Luplow: 7 ABs, 0 hits, 1 BB, 0 SB, 4 Ks. Anyone else think that there might be room on the Twins for some new blood?
  3. So close to staying on topic. It took seven comments before the first complaint about not adding a reliever at the deadline. So close.
  4. I don't think he will either. I'm just not convinced he's a good bullpen option with those splits.
  5. My only concern with your suggestions is moving Ober to the bullpen. He has a 5.71 ERA in the first two innings he pitches and a 2.31 ERA after that. I would prefer to see the opposite for a reliever.
  6. Another article about the Twins not adding a reliever at the deadline. Yawn.
  7. I went to the site and played around a little but I couldn't find where it said ball or strike.
  8. Actually, your two comments are somewhat contradictory. First you say that you don't think they are better at judging the zone just because they are familiar with it. But then you say it's because they are better at judging the zone. Where do you think they learned how to judge the zone in professional baseball? By working their way to the majors through leagues with robotic umpires. If you have a consistent strike zone for three or four years in a row, you become a good judge of the strike zone (unless you have no discipline whatsoever).
  9. That is conspiracy theory at its finest.
  10. Huh? Didn't understand any of that.
  11. Never a positive response.
  12. Pay him whatever he wants. In pro sports, money is theoretical anyway.
  13. A QO would be twice as much money. That's a lot for a 36 year old #2 or #3 starter.
  14. I am. I am. It seems like he's been getting multiple hits almost every night lately.
  15. Two years for $20M total. And throw in some reliever-based incentives like successful holds, saves, etc.
  16. I thought the topic would be that the White Sox, Guardians, and Twins are contemplating a three-team trade. Baldelli to the White Sox, Reinsdorf and LaRussa to Cleveland, and a revitalized Terry Francona to the Twins.
  17. There wasn't the technology years ago for anyone to truly know how good or bad the umpiring was. For all we know, the umpiring may have improved. But maybe that's why baseball was more fun back in the old days.
  18. What in the world was the exit velocity on Wallner's single???? I thought the game-ending double play was going to be close. I just haven't seen enough of Correa (I live in Maine) to remember that he throws the ball as hard as Wallner hits the ball.
  19. The in-studio analysts on the MLB channel were discussing the Twins after last night's comeback win and their chances in the playoffs. They felt the Twins would be a scary team in the playoffs because of their starting rotation, decent offense, and the strength of their bullpen. As some have pointed out above, a couple starters would probably become bullpen pieces which would give the Twins six solid choices {Duran, Jax Theilbar, Pagan, and two starters -Varland and Ober?). I'm not agreeing with this view (or disagreeing) but it's interesting that baseball experts have better opinions of the Twins than the local fan base.
  20. Since the trade deadline, Michael Fulmer has an ERA of 6.48, a WHIP of 1.20, and opponents are hitting .242. How much better is that?
  21. Baldelli removes Jax when he's doing well. Baldelli leaves Duran in when he's doing poorly. Why can't Baldelli predict the future and make the correct decision. It's so frustrating!!!!! I know I'm not Randball but this is satire. I figure people are going to bitch about Baldelli's bullpen decisions so I thought I would get the ball rolling.
