  1. 3 batter rule will not speed up the game if he can't get anyone out. Then you bring in another pitcher and hope he can get them out. 10 IL was so easy to abuse with pitchers. It's good that they decided to change it back.
  2. He is no longer a $17M a year pitcher. He most likely ends up with a contender or closer to wherever is home for himself for like 2/25M.
  3. Nope. It's probably best for him as well to get a change of scenery and maybe another pitching coach can help him take his game to another level. Good Luck/
  4. I wonder what people said about Stephen Gonsalves when he was a top prospect? In the right deal almost everyone should be available.
  5. No to the Red's trade and no to bringing back Cron.
  6. The Twins could be in a little trouble depending on which balls MLB decides to use in 2020. I love a team with speed.
  7. MadBum will either stay in San Francisco or end up with Atlanta. They proved last year with Donaldson that they are not afraid to spend some money. I would expect 4/80M.
  8. True, but Wheeler will cost you a draft pick along with at least a 4 year deal.
  9. Neither of the 2. Wheeler has only really had a couple of good seasons and not sure if he won't fall back into his injury filled past. MadBum has so many miles on that arm and he has already lost the velocity on the fastball and will lose more as years go by. Any team that gives him 4 years will regret the last 2 for sure. The Twins would be better of trading for a pitcher like Jon Gray from Colorado. A change of scenery and a better lineup could do wonders for him. Jordan Lyles should be another target to look into signing.
  10. Can't steal more bases when your fastest player can never stay healthy and you don't have many other options on the roster that can steal a bag.
  11. Absolutely no way the Twins could get a #3 starter for him. Teams can always find players cheap to come in and hit 25+ hr's (more if they keep juiced ball) for well under 5M a year. Maybe the best thing for Eddie would be a change of scenery and hopefully he could buy into what a hitting coach could help him with plate discipline. He also needs to improve on his defense BIG TIME.
  12. Hitting is great for sure, the Twins need to come out and tell him he will only be used at 2nd base and that he needs to take all winter to work on his defense. The Twins can't have 3 poor defenders in the field right now along with Polanco & Rosario. We also still don't know who will be playing 1st base either. With a poor defense you may be able to win a weak division and then get railed in the playoffs. That's without bringing up the suspect pitching.
  13. I would rather focus on pitching than throw insane money at a catcher. This move would make no sense other than it could get the Twins to move Garver to 1st. Why not same 12M a year and sign Martin Maldonado or Robinson Chirinos?
  14. Exactly, Tampa seems to be a very well ran organization. They bring them up early, get their use out of them and flip them for prospects to keep the cycle going. Imagine if Tampa had even a 100M payroll to work with. I know not every trade works out, the Twins need a trade like what Tampa got for Chris Archer. If Jose Berrios is not interested in a long term deal flip him when he has 2 years left of control for a haul.
  15. So you want to spend over 25-30% of the payroll on just 1 player? That's also why Rosario is on the trading block. Poor defense and with the juiced ball we should have expected more output as well. Fan favorite for sure, but not worth 9M+ a year. Pay 5 players 15M a year and that account to 75M. Then with payroll usually around 130M that doesn't leave much for the other 21 players. Twins need to hold onto a few of these players but it also would not hurt to pull a Tampa and trade some off and reload.
  16. Who needs Cole when we just signed Wisler!
  17. It would be a good idea but then you first need to sign 2 catchers and decide what happens if they can't keep Sano at 3rd much longer. I just don't want to see them waste Sano and turn him into a full time DH after Nelson Cruz leave MN. Too much talent if he can ever live up to even half his potential.
  18. I highly doubt he will ever make it to the majors. Another "can't miss prospect" that should have been dealt while he had value.
  19. Not good when you consider they played with a juiced ball.
  20. It could be about the growing salary, lack of hustle, lack of plate discipline, and at times wild throws/ not using cutoff man.
  21. 32 Hr's with a juiced ball is really not that impressive to be honest. Funniest thing I heard earlier this year was Reggie Jackson asked how he would think he would do if he played in this era. He responded I would probably hit 20 hr's, asked why so low he said you know i'm 73 years old. I know i butchered it but i'm sure you get it.
  22. I'm always cautious when it comes to Met's pitchers as free agents. They seem to abuse them maybe a little more than most teams and you rarely seem to hear of them after they leave. Remember Matt Harvey?
  23. Jordan Lyles! Jordan Lyles! Jordan Lyles! I like to look for the cheap signing with the most upside.
  24. I'm happy that Cruz will be back in 2020. I'm not sure how many AL teams would have been willing to go past $12M for him at his age and him being basically a full time DH. Offer Odorizzi the QO so at the worst he accepts it and we are only stuck overpaying for 1 season over a 3-4 year deal. Odds are he might turn it down hoping for a long term deal. Which he won't get being tied to draft pick compensation. Cron has got to go. The power is great for sure, but we can't have him back being a defensive liability. I would rather have an excellent glove that would hit .270 with 10-20 Hr.
