    So what would .270 in the minors equal to in the majors? .200 or so. I would like to see them hitting at least .300 and playing every day.

    So you would put him out there and let him struggle? Jenkins is hitting like .275 or so in the minors. That's not exactly crushing it. I would rather wait until he is ripping up AAA pitchers. You bring him up now and he struggles how does that help his development.

    I agree 100% with you. Emmanuel Rodriguez is already on the 40 man roster and will be out of options after this season. So they have nothing to lose getting a look at him. I'm not sure if most people understand Jenkins and Culpepper are both hanging around .270. That's not exactly very impressive against minor league pitching. Give them some more time.

    Culpepper needs to stay healthy and put in a couple of good weeks and play the field to earn the promotion. The same could also be said for Jenkins. As for Wallner, what would his role be? He still struggles against lefties and isn't solid defender.

    So does anyone realize Fedko and Culpepper have similar stat lines? Fedko was obviously nervous and never got comfortable when he was called up.

    You don't clear spots for players until they are ready. Culpepper needs to simply stay healthy most of all and Jenkins doesn't hit lefties. The both aren't going to help a playoff team now. If the Twins were out of contention I would be all for it to bring them up.

    If Jeffers signs a contract worth $50 million or more: The Twins will receive a highly valuable draft pick between the 1st round and Competitive Balance Round A (typically in the early 30s overall). This mirrors the scenario from the 2024 draft when the Twins received the 33rd overall pick after losing Sonny Gray to a $75 million deal. If Jeffers signs a contract worth less than $50 million: The Twins will receive a draft pick after Competitive Balance Round B, which places the selection just before the start of the 3rd round.

    Everyone missed one key thing, if they offer the QO to Jeffers and he accepts it they still have Victor Caratini making 10m in 2027. That's a ton of money for a pair of catchers. There's not a team out there that would trade for Caratini without the Twins eating a good portion of his contract and then you still get pretty much nothing in return as well. So that could potentially make it like the Twins are paying Jeffers 28m+ in 2027. There's also a few factors that also could happen. Let's say Jeffers bat goes ice cold the rest of the season or he gets hurt. Then he might accept the QO and they are stuck paying 33m for a pair a catchers when they could use that money towards the bullpen. If they were willing to trade Larnach there should be no reason they should hold onto Jeffers.

    That's not an overpay at all. I feel Marek Houston will be passing Culpepper before we know it. As for ERod he can't stay healthy and he's out of options after this season.

    There are a couple of bright sides to the trade. Kremer can be sent directly to St Paul and let him get his things together. The other one is they can just non-tender him if it doesn't work out. This was truly a horrible trade for a player that would be a DFA candidate after the trade deadline if he wasn't traded.

    Ton of lefties in the pen now as well. Minter, Rodgers, Funderburk and Rojas. I wouldn't miss Rodgers or Funderburk. Someone has to go.

    So who gets bumped from the rotation now? Not a fan of the trade. It didn't improve them like a trade for Kevin Gausman would have.

    The Twins should have tried to get Kevin Gausman from Toronto. Send Reyes and another prospect around 20th overall and have Toronto eat some of the remaining money.

    Jeffers will command at least 4 years in free agency. Remember how people were so upset when Mitch Garver left. I forgot all about him and the same could happen with Jeffers.

    Caratini is a dime a dozen player that will cost them 10m next year. I would trade Jeffers so at least they get something for him. I wouldn't trade Jackson under any circumstance. He's cheap and controllable. You trade Caratini they are back to square one and need to throw 5-7m at a catcher.

    Why isn't Roden playing center? Keaschall is such a defensive liability wherever he's playing. I wouldn't miss Keaschall if they found someone who wanted to trade for him.

    On the bright side, we won't be hearing any Buxton trade rumors until this winter. Or I should say not until after the lockout is over.
