  1. The Twins need to be claiming pretty much everyone for the bullpen and sadly now any hitter right now and see if they can solve them. Even if one out of every 10 can stick it's better than the current alternative.
  2. Keibler got promoted because he's already on the 40 man roster. DFA Outman, send down Lewis and add Arcia to the 40 man and promote him.
  3. I'm all for picking up any pitchers that gets dumped and giving them a shot. A relief pitcher doesn't need more than 2 or 3 pitches to be effective. I'm also surprised that the Twins are smart enough to just have a guy throw his plus pitches.
  4. Lewis most likely will be gone before you know it. The smartest thing they could do would be to send him down and let him try to find his swing in St Paul.
  5. Any chance that Brooks Lee can give his dad's phone number to Royce Lee to help him find his swing again?
  6. The current pitchers in the bullpen are blowing games left and right. Changes can be a good thing.
  7. All he wants is a major league contract now. I just wish they would have signed a couple of veterans for the bullpen in the off-season that weren't so washed up. They could have flipped them for prospects at the deadline.
  8. Still would be better than Topa or Banda. From what I read he was pitching good in the minors. I'd rather take a chance on them over pretty much anyone in the current bullpen.
  9. I know both veteran relief pitchers aren't what they were in their prime, but as bad as the bullpen has been what do they have to lose? It's just so frustrating that the Twins have been getting good starting pitching and the bullpen blows it. I would also expect both veteran pitchers would only get veteran minimum so they won't be adding much to the payroll.
  10. I'll say it again, thank you for your minor league updates.
  11. I would be contacting Lou Trivino and Tom Kahnle and bring at least one of them in. This is so embarrassing that they get good starting pitching and then the bullpen implodes on a daily basis. Both veteran pitchers are available and would easily be an improvement
  12. Prielipp pitched really good in his debut. I just hope he can remain in the rotation and they can stretch his pitch count a little every start.
  13. Reach out to Boston about Aroldis Chapman. They are in freefall this season. They can even do it the Twins way and send better prospects to have Boston eat most of the contract.
  14. To defend Wallner he played against lefties and struggled. Launch isn't facing them. Clemens can play multiple positions, so that's why he's not being mentioned. They can't send Clemens down without clearing waivers. Outman is only a pinch runner basically and can't be sent down either.
  15. I prefer "asking" over telling them to change positions. Telling them they are changing could be extra pressure on then. The sad part now is that neither have any trade value besides a lottery ticket. They may both have enough service time that they can't be sent down without permission.
  16. Larnach's success could be that he's not facing lefties.
  17. If he batted right handed it would make it easier. Now the have to decide if they pull the plug on Wallner or Larnach. They could keep both and possibly move Wallner to full-time DH. I honestly would have sat down both Wallner and Larnach after last season got over and asked them to consider playing first base. It's pretty odd that you wouldn't think about trading or releasing anyone but Wallner or Larnach. Outman brings speed off the bench, Clemens can play multiple positions and they only have Caratini and Bell who can also play first. Tendering Larnach a contract may have been a mistake.
  18. Give him the Zebby Matthews treatment and demote him to the bullpen.
  19. I can agree with that, but pulling the plug after 3 starts is foolish.
  20. A pitcher doesn't need to throw in the upper 90's to succeed. Hitters can time a pitch, it's more about the location and changing speeds. Just look at Aroldis Chapman in the Boston series. Hitters were looking for the upper 90's to 100 and made them look foolish with an 86 mph slider.
  21. I would disagree with making a switch now. He has struggled but he's only had 3 starts so far. Pulling the plug on him now would be a mistake. If he's moved to the bullpen in St Paul he will not be throwing enough to hopefully snap himself out of his current funk. I would think part of his struggles are a mental thing right now. He was in the majors last year and didn't make the team this year. That could have him doubting his stuff. He should keep working on it in St Paul and if he continues to struggle into June then you either move him to the pen or send him down to AA. It could mentally ruin him or be the motivation he needs to turn it around.
  22. Seriously going to use Taco Tuesday as a headline for two Latin American players. I may be overreacting but we don't any racist type headlines here.
  23. The team will not be sold until the potential lockout is resolved this offseason.
