  1. Robles for $2M and possibly released by June or $7-9M for Brad Hand?
  2. I think the Saints were doing quite well on their own. To me it wouldn't make sense for them to put up $20M
  3. So who came up with the $20 million for the franchise fee? Hopefully the Twins covered it 100%.
  4. Bauer is an ace on a team with a SOLID rotation. Berrios is a #3 starter on a team with a solid rotation. Sorry, Berrios is good just not an ace. He sadly seems to start hot and runs out of gas during the season.
  5. Polanco would have been a non tender without a doubt. There's a reason why the Twins are looking at SS on the free agent market. Polanco will turn into a utility player. There is no reason to have a poor defensive SS if you can take advantage of the current market and improve the team defense.
  6. I know he wasn't a non tender player but wouldn't have Brad Hand been a much greater option to close than bringing back Rogers?
  7. People can disagree all they want with my thoughts. In my opinion if everyone was available that were active for more than half of last season only Kepler & Garver would bring back a premium as position players. As for the pitchers, Berrios, Maeda, Pineda, and possibly Duffy and Rogers would bring back a premium in a trade.
  8. Those trades seem pretty one sided.
  9. Trade Taylor Rogers and bring in Brad Hand on a 2 year $15M.
  10. In the market for a catcher?
  11. Is there an actual market for Sano? Any trade would not be favorable for the Twins. Even if NL keeps the DH teams shouldn't overpay for a 1 dimensional player.
  12. What's wrong with Lynn? When the Twins brought him in he never had a Spring Training so he struggled.
  13. All you have to then think about where the pitching is rated. Great pitching shuts down good lineups.
  14. The biggest thing JD can do for the Twins would be to somehow find a way to get through to Buxton that he needs to stay on the field and quit running into walls.
  15. 5 reasons will be the following 1. starting pitching 2. starting pitching 3. starting pitching 4. starting pitching 5. defense
  16. I said over 2 years ago that Gordon would never make i to the majors. This is his last year to make a giant leap forward or be done.
  17. So what's the rotation going to be when Michael Pineda & Rich Hill come back? Obviously your first thought would be Dobnak or whoever is the 5th starter gets pushed to the pen when Pineda gets activated. Then how do they use Hill. It's a good problem to technically think we will have too many starters.
  18. I don't want more playoff teams added. We don't want baseball to turn into the NBA playoffs where basically half the teams make the playoffs. This cheapens the regular season and makes the 162 games mean even less if that's even possible.
  19. How is Rooker a 1st base candidate when he never played an inning there in 2019?
  20. AL central window is closing rapidly for the Twins. The Sox will not hesitate to make moves and they have always been aggressive when they need to. Maybe not 2020, but I would be thinking 2021 will be the changing of the guard on top of the AL Central if the Twins can't make a trade for a top starter or if prospects can't make the jump to the majors.
  21. So why do i get ripped for saying Arraez should be a lead off hitter but now it's a good idea. Don't give me this new metrics garbage. Your hitter with the best OBP should be 1st. Would you rather have a solo HR or a 2 run HR if you feel this team is going to keep hitting bombas.
  22. So then is it ok if we wait 2 years and hope Polanco still has some value?
  23. I would trade Polanco before I would think about trading Arraez if he continues to play well. I know everyone will say Polanco is/was an all star last year. Just go look at his stats after the all star break. Poor defense and we can't hope JD can get to all the balls on the left side of the infield. Sell high on Polanco if teams believe he has a high trade value.
  24. It's poetic when you think about paying him basically 23M a season. I can't recall the last player the Twins gave 23M a season to right now but I do recall the last couple of years were no where near worth it.
  25. Buxton would have been a candidate for one of these extensions when he first came up. That may not have worked out very well since he can't stop running into walls and slamming himself into the field as well.
