  1. Too bad MLB can't be like fantasy sports. Once a team claims a player they go to the bottom of the list.
  2. I would trade 20 losing seasons for another World Series title. We still have the Saints in town.
  3. The Reds will claim at least one of the pitchers. I just want to get Moore. Put him in closer role and slide Duran into the Andrew Miller role as the rally stopper.
  4. Teams still have to deal with waiver priority. It's not like they are automatically free agents. The system isn't broken.
  5. They had no choice to try to push. Unless they wanted to give up and trade Ohtani, even though they were still in the hunt.
  6. I don't get why people are ripping the Angels for doing this. They made a push and made some trades at the deadline. Then Trout is back to the IL and then those lose Ohtani as a pitcher. If they all get claimed they free up some money and give them some roster spots to develop some young players. If more teams were smart they would be doing the same.
  7. Nice debut tonight. I am upset that the Twins didn't get him with the water or gatorade when he got interviewed after the game. Careers are too short and you never want to miss out on getting a little post game celebration.
  8. People also forget about the money the team would make from Japan for the broadcast rights to the Twins games. Angels were getting 30M a year from Japan.
  9. Just think if the Twins didn't give that massive mistake of a contract to Correa. Then you could really step into the Ohtani sweepstakes for real.
  10. The best use of Duran would have been in the Andrew Miller role like Cleveland did with him. Only problem is the Twins were too cheap to add a solid RP when there were so many available late in free agency.
  11. Is there any point into rushing him up this season? Nobody can actually think the Twins have a good enough team to even get out of the first round. And to be honest, the Twins still have win the division before we get to that point.
  12. I don't think it would have mattered either way. Which makes no sense why the Twins go out and spent a ton on Correa and then decide to play it smart and not make any moves.
  13. There were so many bullpen options available in January and the Twins were too cheap to add an arm or 2.
  14. Exactly, they should have dealt Gray or Maeda if they weren't going to do anything to improve the team. They could have easily dealt one of them and still won the crappy division.
  15. Pitchers don't need to throw 100 mph to get people out. I'm not calling Keuchel the best pitchers ever either. Go look back at Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine. They never threw hard but knew how to pitch. To be honest, with everyone trying to hit a home run every time coming up all a pitcher needs is the ability to effectively change speeds and have great location with their pitches and these hitters would have no chance.
  16. If a player is going to get it doesn't matter what position they play. I still would like to know what is exactly wrong with Buxton "physically". Isn't this like buying a new car and not driving it?
  17. If they can get a haul for Sonny Gray I wouldn't pass it up. Twins will win a bad division and get swept by a wild card team. Only other option is to keep Gray and extend a qualifying offer and get a pick when he rejects it. I would rather take the prospects that are MLB ready over a pick any day. It would be different if the Twins were playing like leaders.
  18. If he gets recalled he needs to play every day. So Farmer gets demoted to the bench?
  19. Correa to bench and call up Lewis..
  20. You they should have added a piece to the pen in the winter. Now they will end up trading prospects in July to shore it up.
  21. If he is healthy give him like 3-4 starts and if things don't work out put him in long relief until he regains himself. Ober has earned the spot. And who cares about how Maeda feels about getting demoted to the bullpen. If he had a great year he would be gone via free agency any way.
  22. Or just look at his history and then you would know 150 games is almost impossible unless he accepts being a DH for well over half of the time.
  23. Didn't hear it but all I can say I don't like the idea of a 6 man rotation how baseball is today. This would have worked when starters actually went 7+ innings. With starters rarely seeing the 6th inning now a team would probably burn out their bullpen quickly. The team would also need a very good bullpen to deal with this all the time. It may also cut down on the amount of bench players a team has to use.
  24. The defense is great but if it means he is only able to play in 100 games all season it's a waste of the bat.
  25. Maybe they try converting him into a relief pitcher this year. He is owed $7,750,000 through 2026 so there is no reason to just cut him and move on. It's not big money but if he can come back it's worth hanging onto him especially since he's not taking a spot on the 40 man roster.
