  1. Everyone seems to think MAT was horrible last year and would rather play Gordon and Martin over bringing him back. Castro was decent in center last year but I prefer him as a super utility and speed guy in late innings.
  2. Then why did he play second base like over 95% of the time if they were betting on him being a first baseman or DH?
  3. Story is not very accurate. The Marlins brought Arraez thinking that he could be the answer at second base, This article said they brought him to play first and DH. He played 134 games at second, 12 at first, and 1 at DH. Is this just a lazy writer or AI? Do your research.
  4. Why are you happy with a player being average at an important position? That bat better be incredible for sure. An average infielder is not what you want on a playoff team. So in an important playoff game do you pull him after 6 or 7 innings and bring in a defensive replacement? I like Julien as a player. His value should be sky high since he's not a free agent until 2030. But just like Arraez if he can bring you a great starting pitcher with at least a couple of years of control you would have to think about it.
  5. Why a clickbait type topic. This is like should eat broken glass (Julien) or eat a nice burger (Lee). Julien should be traded if you can get a great return. If you compare Julien to Arraez the main difference is Arraez is a better hitter. Julien has more power and they both are defensive liabilities. Hiding a guy at first isn't the answer. Brooks Lee is a very young prospect that made it to St Paul fairly quick. The main issue may be finding him playing time if the Twins can't make any trades.
  6. Cheaper isn't better. You need a guy that you can count on to play 5-6 games a week and play good defense and give some offense as well. Castro is better suited for super utility role.
  7. One thing that seems very wrong to me is why would they debut Lewis in September and Erod in October? They would not be post season eligible so bringing them up makes absolutely no sense at all. I understand you put a prospect down for each month but that least two are just wrong on so many levels. I enjoyed the read until I saw September & October listed.
  8. I see this being one of those years when there are like 6 players trying to fill the position.
  9. Sure, because Buxton is ready to play 8 games at least...
  10. MAT may have been pushed into the launch angle nonsense last year. He did have 21 home runs and played excellent defense. Castro may be better suited as a super utility and pinch runner with his speed. I can't wait to see people complain about getting nothing out of CF in 2024.
  11. So who is better in house than MAT? Buxton for 6 games, Gordon lol, ERod maybe in 2-3 years, Jenkins yes in a couple of years, and maybe Castro now. So that gives you really only 1 in house option that may be better.
  12. I just hope when that day comes that Justin gets the Dick treatment and doesn't realize he's out. I loved him as a player but Justin doesn't bring anything to a broadcast. We haven't gotten any outrageous stories or anything for a new viewer that didn't know him as a player to get excited about.
  13. Isn't the title wrong? Varland was in the bullpen last year. So shouldn't it be more like not moving Varland back to the rotation is a mistake.
  14. You could make one about Buxton. The only problem it make take 18 years to get the equivalent of a full season.
  15. So you think Seattle is just going to give away young controllable pitchers for pennies on the dollar?
  16. Have him get knee surgery and shoot him full of every banned substance and hope something speeds up the recovery time and basically write of 2024. Then hope you can get a couple of good years out of him.
  17. Unless he's trash why would the Reds even think of trading him? So many years of team control left.
  18. Only way you trade for a rental is if they can include a window to try to agree to an extension. The Twins can't mortage their prospects for a 1 year rental like this. Sure, they will get back a high pick when the player rejects the QO. Just wait for the big name starting pitchers to sign and give Seattle and Miami a call.
  19. Why would Seattle trade away pitchers with so many years of team control left? The deals they could get would be better than the ones they listed. You don't give away pitching.
  20. Sounds almost like a scouting report for Arraez besides the offensive part.
  21. There are still too many free agents available for a trade to happen. This includes pitching. With so many top pitchers still available teams like Seattle won't make a move until the amount of free agents decrease. Supply and demand at its finest. Unless a team gets blown away they won't trade a guy right now.
  22. Looks like someone forgot Baltimore actually got good and are not looking to trade away arms now. This article would have made sense a few years ago.
  23. Great article but waste of time. Boras wouldn't allow it unless he was a trash player. Boras knows how to milk a team for the most money.
