  1. Sail the seven seas. Keep your money out of the greedy companies.
  2. 3 for 5 the other day. If that's being lost and I can't until he's up to speed by your standards.
  3. Exactly! Gladden has a fac for radio. Lexi should be doing some in stadium interviews or whatever.
  4. Pump the brakes a bit. The only change I would like to see is players actually understanding that not every player is a power hitter. This launch angle garbage is ruining the game. Players are striking out like crazy because of it. If only they could focus more on getting hits the team would improve.
  5. No harm in signing Chavez. I would imagine it would be for league minimum. So if he doesn't work out it's not that big of deal. I wouldn't be against the Twins signing one of the following starting pitchers to a minor league deal with an opt out of like May 15th or so. Mike Clevinger, Matthew Boyd, or Vince Velasquez. That would give them all time to get ready since they didn't have a spring training and would be nice insurance if any starter went down. And giving them an opt out gives them a chance to leave if there are no openings in the rotation.
  6. What's your point? Don't copy and paste something and not have an opinion of your own. They are keeping in shape and throwing of course. But it's not the same thing as actual spring training. Just look back at what happened when the Twins signed Lance Lynn late in spring training. He was not effective at all and I don't think he was mentally prepared either. I would be shocked to see Blake Snell pitch before May 1st. They will want to push him out there since they spent the money of course. Buyer beware signing these guys without spring training and expecting them to be able to step right in. I wouldn't be opposed to the Twins looking at a guy like Mike Clevinger and bringing him in on a minor league deal with a May 1-15 opt out. He won't be ready and it could benefit both the Twins and himself.
  7. Pretty sure Lorenzen is still demanding a 2 year deal. So most likely looking for 17-20M still. His agent is playing chicken with all the pitching hungry teams and waiting for another injury to make some team bite the bullet on a 2 year deal. How do these pitchers think they will be ready to pitch before early to mid May without any spring training?
  8. AK being DH simply opens up Julien to share 1st base with Santana and gives Brooks Lee a spot at second base.
  9. Not sure I would want any pitcher that has already missed a month of Spring Training. It reminds me of when the Twins signed Lance Lynn late in Spring Training. He was so far behind and never did anything for the Twins. They claim they have been throwing on their own but it's never the same and they will not be worth the time.
  10. Just wait and see what MAT signs for. If it is close to the 4M Margot will be paid I will not be happy.
  11. 2. If Buxton goes down again I don't have faith in Margot taking over like MAT did last year. It would be interesting to know the last offer MAT turned down from the Twins, if they even made him an offer this offseason.
  12. Margot has been battling knee issues as well as Buxton. So not sure what they really did here to improve the team. Now we wait and see what MAT & Duvall sign for before we know how this deal looks. The prospect from LA is a step up over Miller.
  13. So how does it work when Kike Hernandez says he has his list down to 4 teams and names them? Isn't this the same sort of thing? Joe never named a player by name. He just said they aren't spending 30M on a player. But a player can put out a list of potential teams and it's ok?
  14. MLB doesn't need or can handle expansion. Move Tampa to Montreal and Florida could just get contracted. Would have to think about another team to eliminate. You could actually choose the Angels as the second team to contract. You can't make the playoffs with Trout and Ohtani you may as well call it. California has enough teams and wouldn't miss one.
  15. Then what happens when Martin can't handle MLB pitching? If they can get MAT or Duvall for 5M or less jump all over it.
  16. Bellinger is not an option simply because they won't want to lose a draft pick since he turned down the QO. Then you would have to figure out where you would play him since Buxton is supposed to be healthy now. I would have rather signed Hoskins to play 1st than Bellinger. With Boras I can't see Bellinger taking any deal under 5 years if even that short. He went from great to getting DFA and had a great year in 2023. That is one reason teams are being cautious.
  17. MAT was seeking a 2 year deal. I don't see any team doing that unless the money is near Grichuk level. I'm sure his agent feels he can command 10M a year and that's why he hasn't signed any place. MAT would most likely be getting 4-7M with a possible 25 team option. His agent might be waiting for Adam Duvall to sign and think MAT can then fetch a premium deal from a club. I can't see that working out that way.
  18. So many holes in the post. Are you just trying to salary dump all the players and get pretty much nothing in return or prospects? The plus side to Montgomery is there is no QO attached to him. If he held out this long I can't see him taking a short contract. This is probably his last chance at his age for a huge deal. Lets say he signs a 1 year deal for 35M and has a terrible year, his next contract would be for like 17-22M a year if he can get a multi year deal. His best option is to look for a 4-5 year deal now. He waited this long another few weeks won't matter.
  19. If Amazon takes over next year I would expect MLB part would be an add-on meaning you would have to pay another $15-20 a month for coverage. It would make no sense to Amazon to just add MLB as part of the Prime package. If it stayed at $149 they wouldn't gain anything from current subscribers. All they would gain is new subscribers that would go month to month unless Amazon got NHL or NBA as well. Unless Prime leaps to $189 or more it wouldn't make sense for them to have it as part of Prime. Hence the add-on fee.
  20. Julien may only be playing some second base until Brooks Lee is ready. So that may solve the defensive part. With the health of AK just like Buxton Julien can share first and DH with Santana. I do like Julien but if the Twins could pull off another Arraez type trade and bring back another starter like Pablo I wouldn't complain or miss Julien that much.
  21. The teams have money and that includes those affected by RSN. They are just trying to correct the market. It surely didn't stop the big teams from spending because they don't care and practically print money.
  22. No way Bellinger would sign for 6 years 144M. He would have been signed long ago if he was willing to take that. I'm sure Boras is trying to get closer to 30M a year and still trying for 7-10 years.
