  1. I would be surprised if he played for the Twins this year and maybe that is for the best. He was not helping Twins and it appears they have better chance of winning without him in lineup. It doesn't appear he can play in field and he was just not getting hits. We can hope that 4 or 5 months of rest will help him get ready for next year.
  2. Have you seen how many of his strikeouts are on called third strikes? He is not helping the team by striking out on a called third strike. Good hitters are seldom called out on third strike. Good hitters will foul off a close pitch and then wait for another pitch. Do you really think that players walk 50% of time on 3-2 pitch? That is just not true!
  3. I would be really surprised if Buxton comes back this year. It appears the Twins are a better team without him in the lineup. I do not think we need Nick Gordon since he was just not hitting before he was put on IR list. I have not heard about how he is doing in the minors.
  4. Julien has been taking too many called third strikes. Walks are important, but a good hitter has to swing at close pitches with 2 strikes. He is too good a hitter to waste a at bat on a called third strike. He would hit some of the called third strikes and have a better average if he would have tried to hit those called third strikes. I am sure he will get better, but the hitting coach has to work with him regarding taking a close pitch with 2 strikes.
  5. He pitched Ok for a few games, but he is not a good starting pitcher. His good years are gone.
  6. For the playoff games only 3 starting pitchers are needed so it makes sense to have him in the bullpen for the playoffs.
  7. I certainly would like him back, but the $10 million price seems too high for him based on his history of health problems.
  8. It doesn't appear that there is a future for Buxton based on his latest injury. He can not play in field and can not hit. Think he should retire, but do not think that will happen.
  9. Twins have played well for most games and have pitching that could win playoff games. I am still not a big fan of Rocco, but he has become a better manager the past month. He has handled pitchers better and has had batters advance runners. In a playoff teams only need 3 good pitchers and it appears the Twins do have 3 good starting pitchers. GO TWINS!
  10. Both Gallo and Wallner are almost worthless at the plate. They both have strikeout after strikeout. It seems there are better hitters that could help the Twins in the playoffs. It appears pitchers know how to pitch to both of them.
  11. I was a fan hoping Wallner got more playing time, but his hitting has really gotten worse lately. It appears pitchers know how to pitch to him. He is getting fewer hits and is striking out more. I am not sure he is the answer to solving the Twins need for a good hitting outfielder.
  12. Dallas really pitched well and saved the game for the Twins.. Without his pitching shutout innings the Twins lose this game.
  13. Hope we do not have to use Jax since he needs a break from pitching. He has been over worked and needs rest for playoffs.
  14. If Rocco can not know that Jax is overworked for this season then he is a bad manager, but Rocco has never had a clue on how to hande pitches. What other team would walk in 2 runs and give up another run by hitting batter. Maybe some team in grade school, but not a pro team. What a joke. If you told someone that would be how the Twins would lose the game they would think it was a joke.
  15. Winder pitching 3 hitless innings was really a surprise. It almost seemed like he was forgotten since he had not pitched for a long time. I was surprised Rocco left him in for 3 innings and I expected Rocco to pull him after 1 or 2 innings. Every once in a while Rocco surprises me.
  16. I am not sure what the odds are for scoring when there are runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs plus needing just one run to win. Last night the Twins had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and had their best bunter at bat and did not bunt runners over. One bunt last night wins the game for the Twins, but Rocco did not have player bunt and Twins lost a game they could have won. I expected a double play since Twins hit into a lot of them. I do not know where the Twins stand in hitting into double plays, but expect they are near the top in baseball. I think every other manager bunts runners over except for Rocco. There have been at least 3 other games that one bunt wins the game for the Twins.
  17. Another game that Rocco lost. Runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs with the Twins best bunter at the plate. He bunts ball and moves runners over then next batter hits a fly ball to outfield then Twins win. Any other manager in baseball bunts runners over and wins the game except Rocco. It is so sad we will have to keep watching Rocco lose games, that the Twins should win, for many years to come. The worst day in Twins history is the day they hired Rocco as manager.
  18. I had to laugh when you said Rocco can figure out the lineup. He can not figure out who to pitch, when to bunt player over or many other things a manager should be able to figure out. He has almost NO clue on how to handle pitchers. It was a sad day for Twins fans when he was hired and will this sadness will continue for many years to come.
  19. I was a early fan, but his play has dropped off. I am concerned that pitchers now know how to pitch him, but he is still a better choice than Gallo.
  20. It just not appear that Gordon is going to be with the Twins. He has played poorly and do not think he will fit into Twins plan.
  21. Rocco never has and never will have a clue on how to handle pitchers, plus he really showed that last night. One of the worst days in Twins history was when they hired Rocco as manager and he will be manager for many more years. It is sad for Twins fans to watch Rocco try to manage a game like last night.
  22. Rocco never has and never will have a clue on how to handle pitchers. It is sad that Twins fans will have to watch him be manager for many more years. One of the worse days in history for Twins fans was when Rocco was hired as manager. There were certainly better choices for manager and our front office made the wrong pick.
  23. One writer said it will make Rocco think more and now I know we are in trouble. I have watched Rocco pitch hit Gallo three times during the past few games and we got three strikeouts. The less Rocco has to think the better.
  24. I do not know where the Twins rank in hitting into double plays, but would guess they are among the leaders. I remember at least 3 or 4 games the Twins would have won with one bunt, plus with their high strike rate doesn't seem like the hitting coach is doing a good job.
