Twins Should Extend Tyler Mahle
John Belinski replied to Cody Schoenmann's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Don't keep throwing good money away on a bad choice. The Twins have already thrown good money away on Paddock who may never pitch again. Go with the young pitchers instead of throwing money away on pitchers that may never help you be a winning team. -
I have said several times that Rocco is a slow learner and putting Pagan into pitch just shows that. How many Twin's fans assumed the game was lost when Pagan came in to pitch? The Twins were probably going to win the game until Rocco decided to have Pagan come into the game. Does Rocco just have a short memory so he decided to pitch Pagan again? Pagan can just not pitch under pressure and that is a fact that most fans know, but for some reason Rocco gives him another try and Twins lose game.

What a odd game where the winning team strikes out 17 times of the 27 outs, but still wins. The Twins hitters missed 17 time, but didn't miss 3 times.

Glad the Twins won, but it was a close game. Still waiting for Wallner to be called up since we need hitters.

Without a change nothing will change. Now that the Twins have a losing record again why not change. I think there are some ex players out there that would jump at the chance to manager the Twins. We all know Rocco will not change so hire a leader that will help the Twins win.

Really the same thing. Twins picked Larnach over Wallner. Larnach has went 0-15 since coming back.

Rocco just can not manage a game. A bunt probably gets the run in and then Polo gets to hit. Rocco just has no feel for the game. Hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes the Twins have ever made and now the front office decided to extend him. I guess they were concerned some high school team would hire him, but even that probably would not happen.

Wallner should be on the team. Either Rocco or front office should be replaced. They called up Larnach who is 0-12 since being called up.

WOW we do not need Wallner? He was on base 8 times in a row before someone decided to send him down and he continues to hit in the minors. We need hitters.

Leadership and experience of playing the game. I seem to remember he did well managing in minors, but for some reason the Twins front office released him.

How can the Saints be in the top 10 for runs per game and the Twins can't score runs like last night. Maybe we can IR Rocco down to Saints and call up their manager. He could not do any worse than Rocco.

If they picked players who strike out the most the Twins would have several players picked. I can not even think of any Twins hitters being in the top 5 of any spot in the field. It is really sad when a team has no hitter even close to being picked. It appears the Twins will be lucky to finish above .500 and the future doesn't look good unless some changes in leadership occurs, but that will probably not happen. The Twins have a nice baseball field, but fans will just not keep coming unless something changes. Signing Rocco as manager has really not worked out and he will never win a playoff game, but the Twins keep managers for a long time. I think that if they had signed Doug M as manager, instead, the Twins would have had a better record over the past several years.

It is hard to support the front office of the Twins with all the questionable moves they have made recently. Over paying Correa, extending Lopez, extending Rocco, trading our best hitter for .500 pitcher, sending Wallner down and many more moves. Can not think of one really good move that the front office has made in last 6 months that helped the Twins.

Twins Fantasy Fix (6/4): New Offensive Options?
John Belinski replied to Mike Rose's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Pablo Lopez has been fine? He is 3-3 with a ERA of 4.5 so he is a .500 pitcher with a high ERA. The Twins have 2 rookie pitchers with better records plus the front office gave him a big contract so we will have to keep him for several more years.- 6 replies

Lessons Learned From the 2022 Trade Deadline
John Belinski replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I just read about a former Twin hitting almost .400 so far this year. I wonder what the Twins record would be if he was still a Twin and the .500 pitcher we got was not on the team. Hitters that can hit .400 are very hard to find, but pitchers with a .500 record are everywhere. When the trade was made our front office said it was a win-win trade. It was really a win for the other team and the Twins were the loser. After looking at this trade and the signing of Correa it is hard to have much faith in our front office. Trading a good everyday player for a player that plays every 5 days just doesn't make sense.- 52 replies

Lessons Learned From the 2022 Trade Deadline
John Belinski replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Our front office has made some trades that certainly did not work out, but it appears the signing of Correa was their worst move. Just do not understand why our front office decided to sign him when 2 other teams decided, after medical reports, to not sign him. I do think Rocco wanted Correa, but that should not have been a good reason to sign him. Those 2 teams now are happy they did not sign Correa and the Twins have him for 6 more years batting in the 3 spot with a .200 average. Everyday this looks worse and worse. As a Twin's fan I can only hope Correa starts hitting, but he looks lost at the plate.- 52 replies

Week in Review: Mixed Feelings
John Belinski replied to Nash Walker's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Max was a favorite of mine, but he just cannot hit anymore. Setting Wallner down was really a big mistake for a team that needs hitters. Rocco just cannot make changes. How long will it take for Rocco to stop using a .200 hitter in the 3 spot? I can only assume that Rocco keeps thinking that Correa will start hitting so he leaves him in the 3 spot. Correa is the worst hitter in the 3 spot in all of baseball. Move him down until he starts hitting and then move him back to 3 spot. For a manager that looks at numbers it is really hard to understand why he is keeping a .200 hitter in the 3 spot.- 32 replies

Twins Fantasy Fix (6/4): New Offensive Options?
John Belinski replied to Mike Rose's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Trading our player with the highest batting average for a .500 pitcher looks more and more like a bad trade. WE had a hitter that would get on base every game and played everyday that we traded for a .500 pitcher that plays every 5 days. I think the Twins would have a better record if they had not made that trade. Our two rookie pitchers are better than Lopez and they did not require the Twins to trade away their best hitter. The Twins front office has been a disappointment making this trade and then signing a .200 hitter for $200 million. After two teams decided not to sign Correa our front office signed him, but I think that Rocco wanted him and now the Twins have a .200 hitter in the 3 spot for many years.- 6 replies

Lopez looks like he has no control over his pitches and is certainly a big disappointment . Think Wallner should have been recalled based on his hitting record in the minors. OK game since we can't win them all. Happy to win today and take 2 of 3.

Correa is number 1 by a large margin. Then maybe Rocco for batting Correa in number 3 spot where he hits into a number of double plays when there are runners on base. Correa has cost the Twins 2 or 3 wins when he hit into double plays with several runners on base. There is NO reason Correa should be batting in the 3 spot since he has lowest average of any 3 spot hitter in baseball.

VIDEO: Falvine and the Twins Youth Movement
John Belinski replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Their faith in Rocco certainly seems to be misplaced. The signing of Correa after two other teams rejected him and then extending Lopez after just two good games seems to show they may not be doing the best of jobs. -
Wow the Twins were lucky to win this game. If our 2 overpaid stars (double play Correa and strikeout Buxton) had not left the game the Twins would have lost this game. Just do not understand why Rocco keeps batting Correa is the 3 spot, he is the worst 3 spot hitter in baseball. If Rocco doesn't change then he needs to be replaced. No other team in baseball has a .200 hitter in 3 spot. I keep wondering how good the Twins would be with an experienced manager, but we will have him for many years to come due to front office.
